apparently in a sad and desperate attempt to defend himself, albert haynesworth has the audacity to dare compare himself to a freaking slave.  saying that the redskins have no right to make him play a different position, and that he's not for sale.  gee, i guess those millions dollars to play a damn kids game isn't enough to ask haynesworth to shut up and do his job.  here's the full article on yahoo if you all want to read it.

anyway, what do you guys think?

I think this guy is an entirely lazy bum. To be a "slave" would mean he's not making any or very little money. After one outstanding year, Haynesworth is not only one of the highest paid players in the NFL, but is also one of the highest paid athletes in all of sports (and even sports history if you want to go that far). Ever since getting paid, he doesn't want to work anymore. He was dreadful last season and has been defiant in doing anything at all dating back to the end of last season. He doesn't understand that playing in the NFL is a privilege and that there are many, many people out there who work 2 or 3 jobs just to try to survive and barely get by in supporting themselves or their families. This idiot makes me sick.

yeah, i agree with you about that.  personally, i think if nfl players can demand to have more money after ONE good season, then it should be justified for teams to ask them to take a pay cut if they have ONE lousy season.  after all, your right.  being in the nfl is a privilege that few collegian great football players ever make like major applewhite or james brown.  those were good collegian players that never made it into the pros.  therefore, haynesworth just needs to shut up and do his job.

He's obviously not a slave, but teams often do ask players to take less money or cut them outright.

Well, you guys hit the nail right on the head!! It is a priviledge to play in the NFL. A slave? Wow!!! Slaves didn't get paid...lol...Professional sports are out of control, period. As a former athlete overseas, I watched a league fall because of too many big contracts. I made decent money playing overseas, but, it was nowhere close to NFL money. I loved the game so much, that I probably would have played for free.... Every player in the NFL is making 6 digits or more to play a game that they love to play. We all wish we could get paid to do exactly what we love...Hell, I love drinking a cold one and watching games on tv...wish someone would paid me to do that. (lmao)....But then I would probably complain about it, saying I'm not getting paid enough to only watch games on one channel. These pro athletes are out of control. Haynesworth needs to produce or bequiet.  Period!!

What a sad player. He gets all that money and still not happy. My way or else mentality. Sounds like the baby throwing a temper tantrum and crying.
I wonder why the Redskins don't just deactivate him or just get rid of him. This can only be harmful for the team moral in the long run.
