The Power Of Praise & Worship
Acts 16:23-26 "And when they had laid many stripes upon
them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to
keep them safely:
(24) Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into
the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
(25) And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang
praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
(26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the
foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all
the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed."
It starts with the arrest of Paul and Silas. Because they
had cast a spirit of divination out of a girl, the local
Philippian authorities beat them and then threw them into
jail. Along with the trauma of the severe beating, they
were fastened in stocks which clamped their arms and legs
in an immobile position, causing cramps and loss of
circulation. The atmosphere there was depressing. According
to the standards of that day, a prison was more like the
resemblance of a dungeon. A dark, damp, stench-ridden
place, with no facility for waste or comforts of any kind.
Yet, in spite of the throbbing pain in their bodies and the
disheartening atmosphere, at midnight Paul and Silas were
heard praying and singing praise worship to God! What a
strange sound this must have been to the other prisoners,
who were used to only hearing the groans or cursings of
those who had been beaten.
Then suddenly, there was an earthquake that shook the
prison! The doors flung open, and amazingly, the bonds of
Paul, Silas, and every other prisoner were released! What
caused this mighty discharge of power?
Praise Worship brings us into God's Powerful Presence
Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts
above their troubles and enter into God's powerful
presence. Through praise worship their hearts were raised
into the joyous presence and peace of God, and provided God
a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances.

The Power Of Praise -Part Two
The Power Of Praise- Part Three
The Angelus is a traditional form of praise for the Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran churches. The Angelus is usually accompanied by the ringing of the Angelus bell (6:00 am, noon, and 6:00 pm), which is to spread good-will to everyone on Earth. The angel referred to in the prayer is the Angel Gabriel, a messenger of God who revealed to Mary that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God (Luke 1:26-27).
I find this to be an extremely beautiful version of the Angelus.

Very nice choice, wish there where more like you. however nowadays it seems everyone has a faith but no longer follows that faith, How the world has changed and I am only 32 years old. years ago everyone I knew had a faith of some sort if not they at least had respect for all. Now its not so nice. Terror, gangwar, and that's just on our streets. I Only wish I knew the final outcome of it all.
Yeah imagine at one time when the Angelus bell was wrung the men would take there hats off and everyone would stop what they were doing to say the Angelus. Yeah it wasn't that long ago when everyone had faith or at least had respect for all. For sure getpaidtopost, how the world has changed.
Praise should come naturally. Jesus is worthy to be praised. When you think about ALL that He has done for you, how could you not have the desire to praise him. God's love is of His free will thus is my ministry. In essence just as it is giving unto me freely I share the good news of the gospel freely.
Praise is Powerful. In Psalm 23 it says God inhabits the Praises of His people. Try praising God for 1 hour non-stop. Just singing worship songs and praising Him. Something beautiful will definitely happen in your life.
(Having said this I'm not saying if you need anything from God. praise Him for 1 hr).
He knows all our needs already and when we praise Him, He can meet those needs without us even asking. In 2 Chronicles 20:22 states "When they began to sing and to praise, the Lord sent ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab and mount Seir".
Deane has written what happened to Paul and Silas.
Sometime ago, I applied for a job that was £6,000 more than the job I was presently in. I got the job but one of my two references gave me a bad reference. The people offering the job to me said that something just didn't add up bcos they liked me and they invited me for a second interview. I had praised God for about an hour before going for that interview. Long story short - I got the Job. I sincerely believe God intervened. It was also a big promotion for me. Thats just one of many Testimonies.
Praise God. God Loves it and if God is happy with you, He'll certain bless you with your cup running over.....
Also, when you praise God, it gives you peace in your heart.
O.K enough said, before I use up all the Hub pages. lol.
Here's another form of praise that Theresa put me on to today. I like it.

According to received Church wisdom, all of humanity deserves to be sent to hell? Why? What have we as individuals done that's so wrong that eternity of torture or annihilation is the reward?I'm sure the average Hubber here has never murdered a child, sold crack to street kids, committed genocide,...

All too often, praise to God is something that many peopleleave at church, an event that happens only when they cometogether with other Christians. However, praise should be apart of a believers lifestyle, inter-mingled as a part oftheir daily prayer-life. At work, in the car, at home inbed, or...

What is more powerful – Prayer or Praise?

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praise of Hispeople (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God "dwells" inthe atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is notmerely a reaction from coming into His presence - Praise isa vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence andpower of...

Is this an egotistical God?Is this a quantum God that doesn't exist without observers? Was this a bored God that wanted playthings? Why would a totally perfect and self containing alpha-omega need/want creatures to complete itself?Or are we like God's 'body' cells and that we are all a part of...

OK, OK I give in. The relentless proof and clear logical arguments have finally persuaded me that you are all doing it because you really love me and actually have the truth. All that nonsense about life happening without a divine intervention? Really - It is so complex it could not possibly have...
