      Depends on a lot of things but now around $26,000.00

   Have you tried www.IRS.gov?  It posts annual stats based upon income tax returns. Numbers do not include unreported income but I think they are the best you will get.  There are other studies available covering average salaries by profession but they do not include all profession.

      Though Its been a while since I looked I think the median income for someone in their early 20's was around $28,000.  But as Quilligrapher said, Irs.gov would be a good place to take a look.

   You've started numerous topics on the United States citizens here and how much we make. You seem obsessed with this. Why does it matter to you. You don't live here. You can find accurate answers by googling the question. The actual government numbers are readily available as others have said.
   
   Why don't you ask the British, the Russians, the French here the same questions?

      Thanks for caring to respond. By the way, the reason was that I would like to see the potential of earning online to you. If many of you are planning to focus on online earnings, or just do a side income. Actually, I'm planning to make a hub and I am gathering information. Perhaps, I'm going to probe other countries as well regarding their earning stats.

   your question is flawed, seeing as these figures are only going to be presented to you in dollars. This could remain at the exact same figure next year in actual monetary terms to Americans yet rise or fall in your own currency.
   
   A figure written on a piece of paper is irrelevant to standard of living anyway, $20000 may sound like a fortune to those in developing nations yet they fail to consider the cost of living in the United States.
   
   The average salary in the UK is £19000, around $28000. That is enough for me to live on in the east of the country, but would be nowhere near enough for me to live comfortably 150 miles away in London.
   
   Neither would I be able to live comfortably in California or New York City, I would quite comfortably be able to live on that in Florida.
   
   Numbers on a screen mean nothing, zilch. Earnings are also correlated with skills, what do you have to offer? Disposable income is determined by cost of living. You aren't going to get on the property market in central San Francisco earning $25000 a year unless you buy a grotty small apartment with somebody else in Tenderloin..... where you probably wouldn't last ten minutes. In many parts of Florida, on the other hand, you can buy a nice home for $50000.
   
   Judging wealth by average earnings is a straw man way of doing things, quality of living is determined by multiple indicators. Earning $30000 in America is not going to give you a better quality of life than $10000 a year would in most parts of Asia, it is called relativity.
   
   Average earnings also does not correlate directly with online spending, if that is your true intention. The UK accounts for a third of the total online spending of Europe, more than Germany and France who have a similar GDP per capita. There are numerous factors to be taken into consideration, such as penetration of credit cards, penetration of broadband, trust in the security of online transactions. The UK is so far ahead of Europe because Amazon came along early and instilled a trust in the UK shopper.
