Moving Up On First Page Of Google?

   I am looking at one of my hubs and I see that it is rising in traffic to almost 50 views daily. It is a very good evergreen topic. I am on the first page of Google, but am in position 6 on the page.
   
   Could I gain a significant boost to traffic by moving up a few positions? I must admit, I don't backlink, but I noticed for certain topics, backlinks are required if you want to get higher views like 100+/daily.
   
   What's the best way to get backlinks? Does anyone here on HubPages invest in buying backlinks (not spammy ones)?
   
   Any advice is appreciated.

      How do you get 50 PVs a day? I am happy with I get 10 or more. On my less popular hubs, get 1 or 2 seems to be all I can squeeze out of them.

         Well, for that hub, I just used the Google Keyword Tool and included enough keywords based around the title. I also included keywords that were similar to the title, but not the same. I try and find general keywords that are searched worldwide above 50,000 and less important ones that are at least 5,000.
         
         I actually have a hub that gets 1000 views at the moment, but it's a "hot topic" and will not receive that amount for years.
         
         One of my current objectives is to write hubs that are topics that will be searched for years and not months.

            In fact the general keyword phrase receives 673,000 global searches and the other part was about 20,000. I am referring to the words I used in the title.

      I read somewhere that the number one spot on google receives approximately 52% of the total traffic for those keywords and number two spot on google receives 8%. The other 40% is dished out between all the other pages.

         Wow. Being number one sounds like it can make a huge difference. No wonder some of my hubs have received 100+ views a day, they are at the top.
         
         I just want to get this hub higher because it's a topic that will be searched for years..

      I have success with not using many backlinks....I read somewhere that Google does not like backlinks as much as the used to ....great news that your hub is getting 50 hits a day....the more people that find your hub..the more you will move up....I have great success using the share button....with links to Google Blog, Twitter, FaceBook, Digg It and others...and it is free...you gotta love free.

      All my Biochemic Tissue remedies and Bach flower remedies hubs are on Page 1 - most of them in the first 5. These are the only hubs where I paid attention to keywords and used backlinks. I use FaceBook, Twitter, IMAutomator and wordpress and blogspot sites to backlink. Frankly, I didn't expect this - but being on HubPages is a great advantage. If you are at the sixth position, a little keyword research, a bit of tweaking, a few backlinks are all it takes to get you to the top - give it a little time and your hubs will get there

   Google still likes backlinks but thye like good quality backlinks.  They call them organic backlinks which occur naturally when people who surf the web find your content and link it to other sites. 
   
   Anytime you move up on the Google search page it is better.  Number 1 position is a goal to shoot for but there are a lot of people trying to fill that spot.
