US puts $10 million bounty on Iraq al-Qaida leader
By MATTHEW LEE - Associated Press | AP
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration on Tuesday put the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq on a terrorism blacklist and offered a $10 million reward for information on his whereabouts.
The State Department added Ibrahim Awwad Ibrahim Ali al-Badri, also known as Abu Du'a, to its list of specially designated terrorists.
The move freezes any assets he may have in U.S. jurisdictions and bars Americans from providing him material support. The State Department did not indicate al-Badri has any holdings in the U.S. The prohibition against Americans providing him with money or other support is more significant, as is the bounty.

that's a lot of money to pay to locate someone..is it worth it? every time we kill or arrest a terrorist ,another one replaces him
What is funny is that the government still thinks it can roll into an area, throw a lot of money around and get results based on our own values and scrupples.
Sure the government may get a bite or two but the terrorists know who they are and will retaliate with extreme predjudice. They have no directives or policy when it comes to dealing with rats. They will roll right in afterwards and kill everyone related to the rat and wipe out as many family members as they can find.
As long as we continue basing our tactics on our own moral and cultural ideology there can be little change.
Are we ready to employ the same tactics even if we have to stoop to their methods? I think that the interrogating methods we now employ are distasteful to many Americans as it stands now. Are we willing to go the extra measure as the Taliban and Al Qaeda and kill children and other innocent people to win this war? I think not.
Trying to appeal to their moral character offering greed as a vehicle is not only a waste of time and money it is an insult to their intelligence.
This kind of action along with the current manner of assassination etc is inviting retaliation. A much smaller price put on the head of anyone in the US is likely to get more takers from Americans. The one thing the chosen organisation has is plenty of money.
All the actions outside convention and agreement are inviting similar responses.
I agree whole heartedly!
It is a shame that we learn nothing from history and continue to run head first into brick walls trying to reprove it.
Our greed for oil and political power (money) has set us up once again. Can we continue to fight a war based on tactics we fought the last war on and expect to overcome the modern tactics employed by the enemy. It is like fighting with one arm tied behind your back.
Unless we are prepared to fight terrorism with more dreadful terrorism we will surely loose and in the process loose ourselves in the fight.
Quickly and efficiently find another energy source to base our economy on, offer the Israelies some other place to settle and stop the insanity of trying to run the rest of the world is the only logical solution.

It was a lot harder than I thought it ever would be getting to 10 million views. I also have a couple of Hubs approaching a million plus views each and I've now started to really take advantage of Pinterest. And I plan to get to 100 million views a lot faster than I got to 10 million. I've been...
