Did the people really build a tower to heaven, did Noah really build an Ark, was Job well tested by God?

Does a fish need a bicycle, is the Pope a Catholic, does any of that matter?

Christ is real, people either are known by Him and know Him or they do not.

I would suggest your answer shows that it matters not whether the bible is true and that people will believe it, regardless. Yes?

Are the stories real???? Is the Catholic church a magnet for pedophiles? Does the pope sweep crimes against humanity under the table to protect the image of the church? Does the pope just transfer pedophile priest to other churches where they can continue praying on kids? Is Penn state a Catholic school?

Wait, I meant to state that the "stories" from the bible aren't real, but I seem to have asked questions who have the answers yes. OOO well.... wink

Yes there was a tower, all 37 feet of it. Or so Castiel on Supernatural said. I didn't hear anything about the other. If they have an episode on that I'll clue you in.

Well it's interesting. These three subjects all have thier own answers with very little to no proof right?

I mean, the whole Babel story is about people of one language uniting TO build a tower to heaven and God seperating them so they couldn't because he says that united man can achieve anything he so desires. Interesting isn't it? So no, no tower was built, accourding to......the bible.

The Ark, eh......there are a slew of satillite pictures and such of an object on the top of a mountain and there have even been segments on shows like 60 minutes about those photos and the people that have gone up to it. Is it really Noahs? I don't know, don't really care but there will never be any proof that it is or isn't.

As far as Job, no one is alive from that story to be able to verify so the only source we have is the Bible. *shruggs*

As some here would put it, "If you can fool yourself into believing in Bronze Age books of religion, you will believe anything" smile

The stories found in the Bible is just that, stories. To take them literally without question is pathetic. Although physical evidence does exist on severla characters like King David, Pontious Pilate. No Noah and the ark (based on an old Semeritan story) no Adam and Eve (identical to most creation stories found in cultures around the world) and Jesus seems to be more medaphore than actual person. Of course the idea of a god and creator is one of the oldest of man's creations.

Whilst you are free to use words like pathetic, remember that this is your own opinion, and believers would possibly see your words and manner as foolish.

Jesus quoted from the old testament. The OT is crammed with typologies of Jesus christ in these stories. There are names places and history tied in with all of the bible. Was there a tower of babel in babylon or was it in sumer? Did the glory of God shine in the holy of holies? Did Gods people ever pull on the rope attached to the priests leg in case he died in the holy of holies, where no one but the priest could enter. Did God bring his people out of egypt?
Did jesus christ die for our sins and was he resurrected?
There is so much more to the bible than just these stories.
    So much is persuasive.
God in my life is persuasive when others can't find him.

    Is the bible believable?

    I can dig it.
