Do you think that the flag and rate buttons could be used unfairly?

Just wondering. There seems to be variances in such things as Hubscores and I wonder how much these buttons actually determine this.

Everything on this good earth can be used unfairly if someone puts their mind to it.

IMHO, it's not anything to waste time thinking about.

No it was a question posed to me by a person that is not actually a Hubber, and I did not know the answer.

I think it depends on what the hubber is flagging for.  If it is an opinion piece and they flag because they disagree; is that correct?

My opinion pieces tend to have a lower hubscore then my others.  Granted, I am not the best writer, the trend seems to be people flag down.

I don't know if this is right or not.  The hubscore tends to go back up when the views lesson.  Just my two cents which isn't worth that much.

I've been thinking (aside from whatever "secret" reasons there are) that the HubScore goes up and down for the following reasons:  They start out sort of low, then in time there's time for voting on them and they move up, and then they kind of settle; but if I/we write more, the same kind of thing goes on with each.

At the same time, I've definitely seen (here and other places) that an unpopular view can tend to get "rejected" by readers.

    This has been discussed here:

HubPages will notice if someone is deliberately voting down hubs and will deal with that.

Flagging is different than thumbs up and down.

Thnx I realised there were thumbs up and thumbs down, and the separate issue of flagging. But a friend i was showing some of the pages to said to me These Buttons would affect your score, aas it is like a Public vote thing, as no one really is able to fully understand the Hub Score thing....... I just asked.
