That's a good question. "Why are his critics so dumb?"

Perhaps also a big fat injection of religion??

I think you may have a good point. Liberals, like most religious people, have a tendency to get agitated when you cast doubt on their messiah, our dear leader.

Shhesh, I'd never thought of a political leader as a messiah.

I'm not a liberal, Onusonus, and I trust not any politician. It does seem to me though, that there has been a witch hunt in terms of Obama. In fact, there have actually been hubbers who have admitted in these forums, that whatever Obama proposed would be wrong, even if it would be to the benefit of your nation. This seems silly, left and right dichotomy aside, is it not what benefits your nation and people that is important, irrespective of which side of the aisle it comes from?

I'm getting that, now Pcunix. Wow, all a bit weird, nothing to do with politics really. Stupid bias, with no rhyme or reason!

I'm not saying you are a liberal Hollie. I do find it refreshing that someone such as yourself can find the "injection of religion" ironic as it is concocted by the liberal media in order to glorify their great leader and set us poor dumb hicks in flyover country straight on what and who is right for us as a nation.

Onusonus, I find the injection of religion, without wanting to offend people who genuinely receive comfort from their religion, a negative. I just can't see how it has been concocted by the liberal media. Whether you like it or not, Obama claims to be a Christian, and to be honest I believe he is. The left and right divisions in your nation are really scary. If I'm being honest, it's kind of like you've all taken leave of your senses. You've stopped trying to get together and work for the greater good, your citizen politics appear purely about the blame game. When you are both so divided, who gains???

Well I don't remember bringing up his religion. I must admit that I have been a little confused as to what his religion actually is; Muslim, Christian, (I think it just depends on the day of the week). Personally I could care less as the constitution clearly states that; "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
I personally have never been in love with a politician, but I have seen a lot of people who are fanatically obsessed with this one especially in the media, otherwise why would Newsweek be so brash in defending their obvious pick for the candidacy? Or our friend Pcunix for that matter? It's media bias and iconography at it's worst, and we're all just a bunch of "genetically" defective haters if we disagree.

Onusonus, let's be realistic here. You state that

I must admit that I have been a little confused as to what his religion actually is; Muslim, Christian, (I think it just depends on the day of the week)

        And then claim that

Personally I could care less as the constitution clearly states that; "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

So why are you even attempting to uncover his religion?? How is this relevant.?

You then go on to claim that:

I personally have never been in love with a politician, but I have seen a lot of people who are fanatically obsessed with this one especially in the media, otherwise why would Newsweek be so brash in defending their obvious pick for the candidacy?

I'm having difficulty with this, as the only forum posts I can bring to mind that have been posted by you, appear to be about Obama. You seem more than a little obsessed with him??

I can't recall a time when you were referred to as "genetically defective" a conservative perhaps, admittedly, to some they're one and the same.

Hollie, how am I attempting to uncover his religion when clearly I said that I do not care what it is? And it isn't relevant to the original post I made but you were insistent on going down the religion bashing road, not me.
Now of course you are right that I am a critic of Obama, I didn't vote for him and I believe that his actions are not good for the country. But am I to assume that you, being under the misconception that I am obsessed with the president, walked into this thread started by me criticizing him, missed the part when Pcunix stated in such a lighthearted, innocent, and unoffensive way that Obama's critics are dumb because of "genetics and culture", and this quip did not somehow apply to me? Come on now.
