Okay why are we so obsessed with what of all people, Rob Lowe, tweets about Peyton Manning retiring? I know we're wondering what is going to become of Peyton Manning. But doesn't anybody realize it's not Lowe who calls the shots? It's Archie who calls the shots in the Manning family and Peyton will do what Archie wheels and deals. Don't get me wrong I am an Ole Miss Alumni myself and love the Manning family. But this the reality of how this family functions and Archie wants the best for each of his sons. Case-in-point, Archie had a heavy hand in the trade between NY Giants and San Diego Chargers when Eli was drafted. I am also sure he had something with Peyton going to Indy years ago. But we'll see what is best for the whole family and we shouldn't listen to what Lowe says. Tweeting is become a horrible form of gossip and as they say "loose lips" sinks ships. Blah even on the media stirring up the pot too, when we have so many more important things in this world to be reporting on. What about Perry dropping out of GOP? What about this La Nina shaking the nation up, and so forth. I guess that's my soap box for now.

People are so caught up in this fast paced society.  We want the news immediately and want to be the first one to hear it.  Think about how many false deaths of celebrities have been broadcast and believed on twitter.  People seem to think that anything they see on the internet is true.  I think people will continue to put sports ahead of real life issues.  Sports give people a way to escape the drama and problems of life.  We put far too much importance in sports and often idolize the athletes.

I have to agree like John Bon Jovi's death being falsely posted on Facebook. That was horrible that he had to go on to Facebook and show that he's alive. As far as Rob Lowe tweeting about Peyton Manning that was so uncool of him. Just shows that he probably wanted a boost to his career that is falling again. Lowe just needs to hang it up like the rest of the brat pack and go on with life and be proud of what they accomplished (film wise that is) in the 80s.......
