Right. So if he'd been locked up in juvie where he obviously belonged, he wouldn't be dead now.
That is classic "blame the victim" and reminds me of rape victims whose entire sexual history is exposed even though it has nothing to do with being jumped while jogging and attacked.

But Trayvon Martin, obviously a troubled kid, was not in juvie.

Hooray for Miami/Dade for what appears to be positive youth justice.

He wasn't the victim, he was the perpetrator.

The kid is dead already, stop kicking his grave.

But he haunts the living. Weird as it sounds. I bet he would be embarrassed by all this hoopla because he attacked a man that he thought was gay in order to gay bash. But he was wrong. And he died. His parents did a completely lousy job. But nobody blames them. What up with that?
If my parents raised me to be such a jerk, our town would have come down on them and not me.
Obama says that could be his boy or that he is that boy. In that case his parents should be convicted of hate and sentenced.
TM turned on Zimmerman because his lady told him it was a gay attack. Women also should be chastised.
Everyone but me is to blame. Get my point?

        Whew!
We've found the one person who is not guilty in this scenario.
I bet your whole town is relieved they don't have to come down on either you or your parents.
        Quel relief!!

I agree that would be a good idea. Tell that to the media.

No, they should not attack a dead 17 year old and post fake photographs of him.

I think Trayvons parents were trying to do what was best for him;get him away from bad influences.I would have done the same thing.
If anyone is guilty it is the police chief who ignored crimes to make his stats look good.

Indeed, were it not for some political correctness stopping it, some early intervention may have had some effect on him.

      We will never know however.

I've had the same thought, and it is sad.

A little irony is that Zimmerman might have mentored him as he did other kids.  Trayvon was probably a little old for that, but you never know.

This whole thing is heartbreaking. You never get too old for someone wiser and more experienced to help you through life.

I wouldn't want Zimmerman to "mentor" my children.

Do you know Mr. Z is a bad man or is that the impression you have? Media isn't really forthcoming with much about him.

Didn't his father recently, after his son's death, have a gang tattoo removed from his own neck?  Aren't there pictures of his father making gang signs, showing the fork?  Have you seen why his mother and father were separated?  His own father might have been the bad influence you mention, perhaps.  Maybe I'm wrong.  No matter what, it's a sad story, and I feel for his parents.
