Is the USA a Democracy, or an Oligarchy ?

   This report says” American democracy is a sham, no matter how much it’s pumped by the oligarchs who run the country (and who control the nation’s “news” media). The U.S., in other words, is basically similar to Russia or most other dubious “electoral” “democratic” countries”.

      The two party system and its stranglehold on the process dooms any others from gaining a voice in American politics. The very idea that a representative government of the people is abhorrent to the average party leader. The money flows to those who do their bidding in congress and the average citizen be damned as far as the parties are concerned. The elections are overrun with party stooges who show about as much leadership as a slug. Their money source is who they represent in the scramble to get and keep public office. Sheldon Adelson recently "Interviewed" potential GOP candidates in his Las Vegas hotel, The Venetian, to see which he will throw his money at in the 2016 election. Many of the top contenders were in attendance. With Soros and the Koch brothers we will see an epic battle to get their "boy" in the White House. Isn't it funny that a job that pays $400,000 a year takes about a billion dollars to win. What is wrong with this picture?

            There in lies the problem. Who really runs it? Is it the huddled masses or a select few who buy those at the top? It would be a different story if those elected carried out the wishes of the electorate. But the promises soon fade and a new (or old) agenda takes over. The rhetoric is still stumped but the votes in office soon show a different meaning. So is the two party system really representative of those who vote or those who donate is what is at question and a blanket statement of the people have spoken when voting for a party nominee does not address the issue at hand. Who do the candidates represent is at the root of the question and not what party the electorate imagine as being represented.

   We will eventually revolt. However, "We the People" are kind of hibernating at this point in time. We will wake up... after we comprehend how to fix what is being broken.
   We need to maintain faith in the Constitution and keep it's wisdom evident.

      I am curious as to how you believe that revolt will look. Will it be a violent matter or will it be a voted ouster of the government in favor of a different administration? If it is the latter how will the bureaucratic dogmas be overcome?

         Warning: mostly creative writing:
         It will have to be a gut reaction to a complete loss of freedom. A renaissance in knowledge, wisdom and self-determination will have to take over every individual or at least the majority of the nation. It will be violent if need be. It will be a unified effort as exemplified by the militias that helped out the cattle herder in Nevada. We the People will be like bears coming out of hibernation expecting berries... but there are none. Kinda upset.
         
         The only way bureaucratic dogmas can be overcome is to have men to vote for who are not attached to them; who are, instead, ready to stand strong for the truth, the good of the people and the strength of the nation. It will depend on the people we have to vote for. If no good guys left, not even revolt can help. So far, the forecast looks pretty gloomy.
