I'm thinking about posting a new hub soon, which is basically how to brew your own mead at home.
I posted on the Google AdSense forum here about this topic, on if Google AdSense would accept this as a topic:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/ … zTkVYwp10J
Google says in one of their own FAQ pages that promotion of alcohol for selling is not acceptable, but "content relating to brewing or distilling beer" and "information on how to distill or brew beer" is acceptable. It seemed line a thin line to cross, so I started the above discussion for if it will be okay.
If you didn't follow the above link, the consensus seems to be that if you don't already have adsense then you won't get approved with any of these pages even though they're supposedly allowed. If you already have your adsense approved (as I have), then it's a thin line, and may get me flagged (again, even if it's technically allowed).
Now, I remember a while ago seeing something about being able to choose to have no ads on particular hubs. I'm wondering if this may solve my problem, but first, I need to find how to do that again anyway. Can anyone help me find this information, on how to create a hub which does not show any ads?
(Side-note: If you have any opinions on whether not having ads will help, or to post the topic with ads anyway, or conversely, to not post the topic at all, do tell me. I'm interested in hearing any opinions on this topic.)
tl;dr My next topic I choose to post may get me flagged by AdSense (even though it's stated to be acceptable). I'd like to post this hub, but not have ads on it, to hopefully solve this issue. How do I create a hub which doesn't show any ads?
Of course I find it only after I've searched and then posted a topic on it. My bad. :S

For extra points though, some additional questions...
- Confirmation that this is what I'm looking for would be nice.
- I don't suppose anyone has an opinion on if this is safe to do? Will AdSense still crawl my page, find this new hub, and flag me?...
Don't quote me on this, but I think someone here at HP said that Adsense threatened to close their account because they had adult content on one of their Hubs, even though there was no ads on the Hub. I guess they associate all the content on the subdomain (profile) with the account. If I find the forum thread where this was stated I'll post it here.
Check out some of these Hubs on that same topic and see all of the AdSense ads:

Hi rickyleo,
You can turn ads off on a Hub-by-Hub basis by opening your Hubs in Edit Mode and selecting the "Display Options" tab on the right. Then simply switch your Ads from "On" to "Off."
I think you will be fine as long as you stick to how to make mead. It is a recipe with ingredients and directions. Alcoholic drink recipes are allowed by Adsense and HubPages.

Now don't get me wrong, I totally love writing on Hubpages and being a part of the Hubbing community, but I have lost a little heart recently when one hub of mine on "How to Improve Male Fertility" had the ads disabled based on automatic filters. This problem I reported in order to have...

I seem to get strange ads that are irrelevant to my hub. Is their a way to 'streamline' the google ads to match the content?

Why does google adsense appears only on hubs which are featured and not on others?I have seen that only those hubs of mine which have been featured have google adsense on them while others do not have. Does it mean there is no worth of those hubs which have no adsense on it? What should I do,...

I was refraining about talking about this but it really is bad. Last month with adsense was my most profitable month, but this month so far I got 3 clicks...What could have made this change?-New Hubpages Layout?-April 1st Conflicker Virus? I was thinking these two things can't be so harmful to my...

Heads up to those applying for an AdSense account! After publishing about 10 hubs I applied for an AdSense Account and was declined due to the standard lack of content. After publishing 16 hubs, I reapplied and was hit with with the following warning as I was about to leave the HP site...
