Girls/Women Must Like Gambling and that's why they insist on the freedom to "enjoy sex."
What enables the freedom to enjoy sex outside of marriage? Birth Control.
Now, I would agree with this on one level: no more sexual repression and going nuts from sexual repression etc. except for the FACT that no birth control method is 100% effective!
What about that fact?
As long as girls/women have unprotected or protected sex outside of marriage, (where the man and woman are committed to each other for life whereupon any offspring they produce will be guaranteed to be cared and provided for,) the tragedies of unwanted/unplanned pregnancies will occur.
Girls/Women are gambling by having sex using birth control.
Just to Make it Crystal Clear.
(According to the way I see it.)
In a Utopian society where everyone pitches in to raise/pay for a child with unselfish altruism, it would be FINE to enjoy free se.. love… if money grew on trees… if everyone had tons of free/leisure time to watch the child and help the Mother/Father.
But we do not live in a Utopian society.
… Even though so many THINK we do… or at least that it is our destiny to create one.
IT ISN'T.
Why? Because "human nature is ever infallible unless anchored in the divine." Sri Yukteswar.
So until that day when we live in utopia, it would really make a lot of sense to abstain 'til yer married!
FYI
I don't see why you keep at it. Isn't it obvious to you that people are going to act like people?
- because it is costing us our freedom.
"Give me liberty or give me death…!"
Remember that sentiment?
How is it costing us our freedom? That's a bizzare connection.
What is it causing most people to go on welfare?
Birth control slip ups/offs.
The Welfare State!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IsGUrHNMSM
How is people going on welfare costing us our freedom?
By creating dependancy. And by creating a welfare state with half the people or more not pulling their own weight. It cannot be sustained for ever. Essentially, hard working citizens lose their ability to be independent/free through overburdensome taxation.
Is that fine with you?
No, I totally disagree. I don't think it affects freedom at all.
Then we will never have the freedom/HAPPINESS we signed up for...
as long as there are people like you in this country, in the majority, and who vote accordingly.
That's unfortunate. Especially as you can't even say what exact freedoms are being taken away from you. You certainly still have your freedom of speech. Religion? Still there.
why am I being FINED $200 dollars this tax season?
Now, I cannot afford to attend my brothers daughter's wedding in Colorado this June!
The govt. cost me this freedom. Yes, my budget is that tight right now.
My family could lend me the money, but they are all in similar situations and in the wonderful habit of letting me live my own life! My brother will understand if I do not show up… but I am quite sad about not going.
Not taking away your freedom. You have the CHOICE to go find a part time job to make up for the loss. I am having a hard time finding any sympathy for you.
You do not know my situation. The bottom line is this: that money was mine. I did not choose to give it to the govt.
Do you choose to give your tax money to the Government?
If you don't like the rules, change them. It's your freedom to do so. Isn't it great living in a free country?
Only revealing and accepting the truth will set us free.
I'll bite. What is the "truth" and how can it be revealed? I can't wait to find out.
That gambling with pregnancy is not worth it on so many levels...
And ultimately, this gambling is at the expense of US taxpayers in too many cases.
@ janesix:
Yes. We voted for the taxes we pay for.
We did not vote to be fined in this case.
We can change the rules, but it requires the majority's awareness of the injustice.
I do shoot for the ideal.
Why not?
I choose positive returns instead of negative.
Thought:
If welfare or govt. assistance was denied to every woman who got pregnant outside of marriage, it would free up a lot of money.
I wonder how much.
It may help out a lot.
It would force women to rethink having more babies they can't afford.
I say that free condoms fosters irresponsible hook ups, where male and females risk pregnancy for the sake of ENJOYMENT.
Furthermore, remember Aides and STDs??
Whatever happened to that scare?
I just can't get over the idea of free condoms being dispensed for free at my friend's son's private university,
(the bathrooms/showers are coed!!!) and a particular thrift store called Out of the Closet, all proceeds going to Aides research!
There would be a lot more babies/abortions, if there weren't condoms out there.
You just can't over the idea of free sex!
and yet, It is playing with fire in every case.
finis
I'm just a realist. Sorry that bothers you.
Have you ever thought that most people may just have stronger sex drive than you? Abstinence is not easy.
Your problem is that you have an ideal world in your mind that doesn't fit with reality. You think people SHOULD act in certain ways, when in fact they act in totally different ways than you want them to.

Why do you believe "unintended pregnancies" are on the rise among 20+ year olds? It's always been touted that more sexual education and better birth control methods would reduce unplanned pregnancies. Just recently Bristol Palin announced she is pregnant again from a man who will be a...

If your 17 year old daughter had sex and had a pregnacy scare, should the mother punish her?The mother had sex at 17 also, but the mother got pregnant. And the mother says she does not hate her daughter, but says she is on her "shit list"

Who do you think cheats the most?Guys? or Girls?

I read this was true and I just have to know if it is, please! Please provide links to prove what you say. Surely we are not going to be aborting babies ready to come into the world fully developed and healthy?

Where in the Constitution is a women's right to birth control? In The United States of America our Rights are enumerated within the Bill of Rights and to my understanding such a Right does not exist.

People who are pro-life are really pro-choice because it is the pro-lifers who wish to give the unborn child a CHOICE rather than have the choice made for them. The pro-choice movement is really a pro-abortion movement because abortion is a big business, there's a LOT of money involved in this side...
