When you have so much followers and if a new people follow you on hubpages, would you like to follow him or just ignore him due to your too much publicity on hubpages?

I follow only those that write stuff I'm interested in reading, never for the social purpose of "joining".

Me too. Lots of people follow for the sake of it and not for genuine reasons. I delete fan-mail too if it is the 'Can we be friends?' type stuff. There's just not enough time in the day to deal with all this stuff.

Great, but why they want to be friend with you?

If you enjoy reading what a hubber writes, follow that hubber. If you do not enjoy what a hubber writes, do not follow that hubber. It's that simple.

I Personally think that it's only common courtesy to follow that person back. I see hubbers here with many followers but they follow a few, i think just as you would like others follow you. The kind thing is to put yourself in their position and not just leave them hanging....The main reason someone follow you it's because they want you to follow them back or to build a writing/ reading relationship with you.

I tend to follow people whose writing I like for some reason or I interact with them on Hubs, forums. Also, if you just follow a lot of people in succession, without looking at their work, etc. it brings Hubber score down. I've never done this but I've seen it happen to other writers here. In addition, if you follow a lot of people it would be impossible to keep up with everything they publish and post, too many people to keep track of; if you actually want to read their writings and posts.

When I get a request to follow someone, I go to their profile and read their Bio.  I will also read one of their Hubs.  If I feel I have something in common with the writer and enjoyed their Hub, I will follow them.

Whoever chooses to follow me, that's their choice.  I would never follow someone back just because they followed me first.  I only follow people whose writing I really like.

I only follow those whose writings are very interesting to me and if I have the same interest with them. I also follow the writers whose hubs I loved reading.
