“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Sorry, I do not have chance for simple reason: I am not speaking lies.

Wonderful discussion topic about lying, thank you how you bring this subject into to the light I would like to add that satan is the Father of the lie as written ,Joh 8:44 You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.
he reached out and corrupted, Eve then Adam with the lie that they would not die if they ate or stole what was not theirs. Did The heavenly Father lie, No , he said
That they would die if they ate. This is true , not only did they die of old age in 900' but they marked us through genes. We die too!
So what we can rely on is love !
1Jo 4:9 By this the love of God was revealed in our case, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might gain life through him.
His son was a payment for us to continue life
Even if we die we can return, but a question another huber posted was if Jesus is our cure why do we still die,
Well the answer is clear Jesus is in Kingly power now, but there is an appointed time for all things like just because you vote a president in office there is a designated time for him to take his seat and run office with his elects beside him.
Notice,Mr 13:27And then he will send out the angels and will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from earth’s extremity to heaven’s extremity.
Re 7:3 saying: “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.”
The truth is that we have a wonderful future ahead , the earth will be cleaned again but many will keep on living through it and after

The true is that Heb 6:18 in order that through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to take firm hold of the hope set before us.
That is why you have a love for truth , and you do not like lies .you reflect our Feavenly Father
        Thank you for sharing.

This is true of your discussion , and I can relate your concerns about lying,  but how do we know it is wrong ? We as humans did not create the law , so I just shared some spiritual knowledge on the subject  of where it first started . I appreciated your question of the discussion and I only wanted to share more on the topic.  Thank you again.

How do we know that we are lying to ourselves?
When we hold beliefs to be equally or somewhat true that are mutually exclusive.
When we ignore or summarily dismiss evidence that contravenes what we hold to be true.
When we are not honest in admitting to ourselves that ideology is more important in our personal philosophy than reason and fact.
