   Best line in that article is,  "Thus, the plaintiffs argue that the Constitution prohibits what it also requires.  That makes no sense."  What the heck?

         For me, the redistricting process is not easy to understand but... A leader needs to step back from the out of wack system to build a more innovative system that will actually work for a long period of time.  The Supreme Court needs to throw this out of court and stick with Democracy of one person - one vote!  States apportionment principles should not be rewritten, that's totally wacky.   
         
         Its a waste of the taxpayers money...but, it keeps the doors of the court open and the lights on.   Aren't I just a ray of sunshine?

   Evidently the Supreme Court case is especially pertinent in the State of Texas because of the many illegal aliens who are living in the district. 
   
   Governor Abbott did an interview on Fox saying “Washington D.C. has not done its job in securing the border.” ... the root of the problem.
   
   “We wouldn’t even be talking about sanctuary cities if we had a federal government that was doing its job to secure the border and protect our sovereignty,” he continued. “There are sanctuary cities because the federal government has abandoned its responsibility.”
   
   Abbott’s solution: elect a president who will secure our border and pass immigration reform to get rid of sanctuary city issues.

   Texas is willing to do the work if DC will foot the bill to Constitutional secure Texas' borders and sovereignty.

      Thanks, I consider 'population' to include children, felons, the mentally ill that are not able to vote, but not undocumented persons who are not citizens and whose numbers would not count in my opinion.
      
      By the way, I thought that 'jerrymandering is spelled with a "G"?
      
      This illegal immigrant thing goes back before Obama, so the situation we now face is not ALL Obama's fault. Look at Bush and the large amnesty provided by Ronald Reagan..
      
      Texas, as a rightwing state, requires federal oversight and I would not trust anybody there to  independently tie my shoes!!

         I know you are bias against Texas, Cred...for heavens sake! 
         
         I like to know what the root of problems are..this one Obama has refused to rectify and only worsened the problem in Texas with his unlawful amnesty.  He doesn't get off the hook as a bogus community organizer.
         
         While Texas abides by  Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty policies, Texas is in the Supreme Court.  Now, where is the problem...who cannot be trusted?   The Federal Government.

            Sorry, Texas  is one my least favorite places in the world, blood red and off from my list. That arrogant 'in your face conservatism' of the place turns my stomach. This problem has been running for some time and I will not focus the blame on Obama for its continued presence.
            
            I love California, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, the bluer the better. Obviously these places are not popular with conservatives?

               That most likely goes both ways for some.  I don't mind arrogant 'in your face liberalism'....I really don't.   It actually helps me to see that kind of contrast.
               
               You had some questions on the Supreme Court case and I shed some light.  I admitted that redistricting isn't easy for me to understand, but I have gone out of my way to see the root of the problem...and that falls on the Federal Government and the current president.  Kind of what I thought before I began digging.
               
               I know some folks do not like the truth and many people actually hate the Truth.
               
               Population of Texas 26.96 million (2014) as in people...real human beings.

                  Colorfulone, I know that it does go both ways, this is nothing more than my opinion, based on experiences and background which are unique to me.
                  
                  So many of the challenges that the Right are initiating  to roll back progress is finding Texas on the front line as the great springboard. Anti-Choice, Voter Suppression, it is all right here.

                     Every voter should have a valid photo ID to be able to vote.  Good for TX for standing their ground for common sense values or any state that is willing to suppress fraudulent-voting.  I didn't know that before, but come away thinking highly of the State of Texas for that. 
                     
                     The Anti-Abortion Bill is one I support.  I have never condoned the killing of unborn babies, to me it is legalized murder, even genocide.  God Bless Texas! 
                     
                     What roll back progress issues in particular are you referring to?  I'm sure there are more then a few with the good values and common sense Texas seems to have.

                           Once again you have show me the flip-side of a coin.  There are always two sides to look at, and I can see the political reasoning on both sides.  It should never be a one way street but...
                           
                           I let it ruffle my feathers a bit when the federal government wants to take power from states, impose, restrict, or causes dependence on/gov. ...  Texas is one of the least dependent states because of its gold and is under attack and the media gets the stories from a press-room to report the news.   No investigative reporting needed. 
                           
                           I consider myself a sensitive person, but I have softened that down by removing buttons that got pushed causing adverse reactions, like seeing RED.  Red has loving meanings and effects too and so does blue.

   Trump is the ONLY Republican who is Ready, Willing & Able to DEPORT ALL Un-Documented Immigrants which includes Hispanics, Asians, Germans, Irish, African American etc ~ One Gigantic REASON WHY Trump is the Desired Conservative Republican GOP Nominee and WHY he has a COMMANDING Lead in the Polls ~

      Of course, for them,  only old schlorotic white men should be the only ones having access to the ballot.
      
      Did you know that the President of the Tea Party says that U.S. society has too much democracy and that we should go back to a property requirement as a prerequsite before one is allowed to cast a ballot.  18th and 19th century old rag concepts, that is today's GOP.
