For you, the real problem with the AMERICAN voter is that neither he nor she votes the way you want them to.....
Actually no. What I believe is wrong in America though , isn't the human element of the candidates that we align with or against though it's actually the human element of the voter that is more telling . What yours or what my ideology is , IS more important .
I have said for awhile that the difference between conservative and liberal ideology is that one is about the small non intrusive governments and thus more liberty and the nanny state desires of liberal ideology AND that is the difference between you and I .
Let's face it . Free stuff and the promise thereof , IS the definition of liberal ideology .
Unfortunately, Liberalism as it is defined today is really Socialist, even Leftist in ideology. Yes, I am a Liberal but in the vein of Kennedy. I am NOT a Liberal in terms of wanting a nanny state. Obama has gone WAY TOO FAR in terms of social programs. I believe in a strict meritocracy-the percent that one inputs, should be the percentage of his/her output, no more no less.
I strongly contend that the proliferation of social programs since the 1960s has seriously impaired the middle class w/ the increase of taxes. Social programs i.e. welfare has only made American worse & it created a sense of entitlement w/generational welfare. Also the open enrollment regarding colleges which created an increase of those who shouldn't have been admitted to college in the first place-decreased the value of a college education & created more college graduates than there are jobs. When colleges had more strict quotas & no open enrollment, the quality of college education was superior & when students graduates, there were commensurate jobs. Now, I have ranted & digressed simultaneously.
Extreme Liberalism(let's call it what it is) created a chaotic fiasco for America. As my late father indicated, when people receive something w/o earning it, they fail to appreciate it & expect it. They also lose their incentive to do better. Most social programs, including welfare, should be reduced 85%. Anyone who is able bodied should be made to work. Colleges should have a strict admission program-only those w/As & Bs should be admitted. College isn't for everyone-stop w/the open admissions. No Obama "care", health care was great before this "advent" & implementation.
If social programs were reduced, there would be a more solid middle class. If one wants something, WORK for it. Simple isn't it. Stop whining about what one doesn't have. Make your opportunity. Social programs in many cases only creates entitlements which leads to laziness & a poor work ethic.
Technically I believe its free "re-education".
My LG cost 19 bux. Im posting with it right now. I dont have an obama phone but I hear they cost:
10,000,000,000,000.00 Dollars.
Edit.
I.E. Free!
… didn't you hear?
She is in touch with aliens who have lots of gold. They brought it from a golden moon orbiting Neptune. They have a base beneath the White House where they have lived since the slaves built it. Unfortunately, they are behind the New World Order Illuminati Globalists.
So, Hillary shouldn't touch their filthy gold.
Go home, you aliens!
Or go take over some other planet!
G.M Williams , all good points ,you are right about this , AND The power of the purse is the greatest power the American voter STILL hold in their, our hands , All we have to do is say no ! A " ground swell" , "grass roots movements " however we want to announce our intention is the only thing to do, at this point . This voting power is far closer to home too than we seem to be wiling to admit ! Go to the local school board budget meetings for one , THAT is where most of your immediate tax dollars go . Most federal taxation is incremental , gasoline , highways , income ,etc.
How long does anyone think it would take IF the American voter immersed him[her] self locally ,in just collectively saying no at the polls , BEFORE the feds also took that message to heart too? The biggest single cause of over taxation and under representation by ALL our government is STILL voter apathy . The American voter speaks out here in forums only half heartedly , the other half of the conversation has to happen at the booth !

The budget deficits in California is forcing the elimination of many programs as a possible answer. Without any other forms of raising revenue are the additional taxes going to start just as the economy is waking up?http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c … 027D28.DTL

Aside from the impact on people who fail in life and wouldn't have a government to help them out, are their any negatives to a society that offers no social programs (in my thoughts this would be except disability)?

America is in its worsening state because of increasing extreme liberal policies i.e. spending on useless social programs, letting more illegals into the country, & other inane policies. What America has to do the following things: reduce spending on unnecessary social...

Why are social programs (i.e. welfare, universal health & college) so controversial in the USA?Do you think it has anything to do with our diverse ethnic, cultural and religious ideas? Or is it something else?

I think it is due to the erosion of families. Mothers no longer stay home with their young children, and fathers are no where to be seen in a large percentage of families. The kids don't have a father figure, and I think this leads to joining gangs, dropping out of school, and criminal behavior. Am...
