with other presidents who did not take the presidential salary.
Is this significant to anyone …
or not?
… Trump could opt to donate his salary to charity or return it to the Treasury: he wouldn't be the first President to do so. When John F. Kennedy was President, he donated his salary to charity, a practice he continued from his days serving in Congress. Herbert Hoover, a self-made millionaire, donated his salary to charity, too. And in 2013, Barack Obama, who famously announced that he had just finished paying off his student loans a few years before he took office, agreed to return 5% of his salary to the Treasury after the government shutdown affected the pay of federal workers.

I know! Right? Both Obama AND Trump are so generous!
Sure ain't like the Widow's mite! Giving out her needs!
hmmmm…. "Then he sat down opposite the offering box, and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, worth less than a penny. 43 He called his disciples and said to them, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others. 44 For they all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had.”
Mark 12:41–44:41
And who's offering is worth more in the Kingdom God?
The answer, of course, Doug, in this particular case, is BOTH!
Unless you can prove otherwise ...
Side Note/Issue:
According to the 1958 Former Presidents Act, Obama will receive the salary of a Cabinet secretary for the rest of his life. Currently, that’s $205,700 a year. Among the other perks are health insurance and round-the-clock Secret Service protection until his death. The costs of Secret Service protection are not made public, but Obama will also receive funds for an office, staff and related expenses …
… Obama will be the first president in nearly 100 years to remain in Washington, D.C., after leaving office ...
Their new Washington digs are located in the capitol’s posh Kalorama neighborhood ... The Obamas have leased an 8,200-square-foot, nine-bedroom mansion that was built in 1928 ... worth $6.3 million ... He and the first lady are likely to remain a visible Washington power couple …
so tax money is funding his disruption of the new presidency.

Is this fair?
Hold on. You said "According to the 1958 Former Presidents Act". So you mean every president since 1958 has been given the same benefits? Did I miss something? What's the point you are making?
Mostly, wow! I didn't even know we were paying for presidents once they leave office.
Therefore, we have a lot of men we address as President So and So … even though they are no longer in office. President Carter, President Clinton
Right? (How come more democrats did not try for this position in 2016?)
My(side)point is that Obama can use the funds the taxpayers pay him to disrupt the new presidency as the New York Post article explains.
http://nypost.com/2017/02/11/how-obama- … residency/
Maybe the article is over the top.
Maybe it's fair game to disrupt the new presidency.
Maybe it's bad policy which ends up needlessly dividing the nation, potentially bringing about its demise …
Yes ? No ?
I know what he can do with his free health insurance.
Basically Trump's services as POTUS and water also have something in common.
They are both FREE!!!
what?!
As water comes from the sky, its FREE!
so is electricity as it is generated ...
Will Trump take his after-money and give it away to charity or whatever ... year after year?
Its kind of a win-win to have a wealthy president take office, but the left doesn't want to see it that way.

Ever since the President has stepped into office he has been wrong. Its almost as if white people forgot to vote in 2008 and President Obama stole the seat. I would like to take you on a journey over the last four years to put into perspective of how racially divided we have come in the last four...

Donald Trump's supporters frequently point to all that he has accomplished to make up for his other bad characteristics (false statements and lying being the most frequent). But the question is, what has he really done?I define "accomplish" as some significant action or policy that...

We all know it will be party-line loyalty for most voters. According to Pew Research, six percent of voters for the 2022 elections crossed party lines. For the mythical independent voter, it is a binary choice for the President. We are fortunate to be able to assess two Presidents based on criteria...
