Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article 5 ways to remove your baby girl's body hair. What can I do to improve? Thanks!
I didn't read your article closely, but I did notice there are six methods listed, despite the title stating the article includes five.
Personally, I find the article's premise somewhat confusing. Why would anyone be worried about removing body hair from a newborn baby? Doesn't the lanugo fall off naturally? Why does it specifically mention baby girls and not baby boys? Does society really hate body hair on females so much that people feel it is necessary to remove lanugo from baby girls but not baby boys?
I think you haven't heard of waxing. Waxing is normal with girls just like muscles are normal with boys.
Not in babies.
You also mention 'fairing the baby's skin'. What?
Your article is written for an Indian audience. This would not be a great topic for a global audience. Westerners wouldn't take kindly to such a backward viewpoint.
If this ever got featured I would imagine that Hubbers will flag it as inappropriate, sexist and backward. I certainly would.
People wax the hair off of their newborn baby's skin? I hope not.
Most of your readers, at least in this part of the world, are not going to think waxing is normal for a newborn. Or even that waxing is only for females and muscles only for males even when they are adult.
Your hub is innately sexist and imposes sexist normal on infants. It might do better if you start by advocating leaving the baby alone, then move to safe methods as a secondary possibility where cultural pressures are strong. Then substantiate, with evidence, the safety of the methods you promote. Newborns are very sensitive and their individual issues are still largely unknown. Some of the methods you mention seem potentially hazardous to me.
You should also possibly consider that your username can be broken into words you probably did not intend.
I can tell you're new here just like me. I also did my first article and am yet to get an honest review. I will definitely read your article and give feedback.
Have you asked for feedback here in the forum? You have no featured content so we can't read your article on your profile. Check for an email from the QAP team. There will be a link to enable you to post a request here.
