   Why Do Many Sick People In A Hospital Bed Answers “I Am Fine” When Asked “How Are You”?

   They do this for two reasons;
   
   Number one-because it's a conditioned response to a question like that. It doesn't matter if you are in a hospital bed or anywhere else for that matter. Someone asks you "How are you?" You answer, "I am fine."
   
   Number two reason-They are optimistic and know that if they remain positive, that it's much more likely that it will come to be, hence the "Law of Attraction." What ever we think about with feeling, comes to pass!

   Not everyone answers this way... it's just a normal, conditioned response to the question "how are you?"
   
   How many people do you know that actually say "I'm not fine", no matter where they are, or what the situation was when the question is asked?. Not many, unless they need to vent or complain about something.
   
   Many patients in the hospital answer "I'm fine" if they're not in pain or confused, but it's very normal to hospital patients to say "I'm in pain" or "I feel horrible". They form that "I'm fine" response because they already assume that the doctor knows that there is something is wrong with them...otherwise they wouldn't be in the hospital, right?
   
   So really what the doctor is asking when he says "how are you" is "aside from what brought you here today, how are you feeling?". The normal response to that question...for most people is (yep you guessed it), "I'm fine".

   "I am fine". is the standard answer to the question "How are you?"  even for sick people in a hospital.
   
   Even if such standard answer seems to be regarded oftentimes as a cliche, for as long as the patient truly believes that she or he is really fine, then it will help that sick person to get better or recover soon rather than replying otherwise.  "It will be done unto you as you believe and say."

   For many people, I agree, its a conditioned response. 
   
   But I will be honest and say, that, whenever I don't feel good I tend to avoid any further questions by saying I'm okay, or that I'm fine.  I hate people prying into my personal life.  I just don't want people to know every little thing wrong with me.
   
   The worst is the look people give off when you say you aren't feeling that great.  I know for many it's I wish you well, and so on.  But for most people they give off a look of pity, which is so not what I'm going for!  But hey, this is just a personal opinion.
