Some Westernised Liberal Muslims do. It is important to say that some Christians do not believe in it.

No, we don't. As Muslim, we don't celebrate Valentines and also New year celebration. You will not find this celebration ever done in Muslim country such us Saudi Arabia.

But in my country, Indonesia, where held the biggest Muslim of the world for country which didn't speak Arabic, some Muslim, due misunderstanding and unknown about what is Valentines and New Year are, did followed this celebration. Well, Indonesia not Muslim country after all and many of our citizen really enjoy western life style, and that's why this is had happened. But real Muslim do not celebrating Valentine and New Year. ^_^

I doubt that most people have any idea of the orgin of Valentines day, I think it is more a cultural thing..i.e. American, than a religions thing.  Us Jews celebrate it...though I think you will find that most men think it is the most worthless and annoying of Holidays.

I think that we must look is it now a religious or a cultural or capitalist figure? Maybe it could be emerged from Christian occasion. But there is no problem of co-giving presents to our lovely friends mutally. Co-giving presents is a good deed in Muslim religion too. But celebrating the new year is not good in Muslim perspective to me. Because someone who is getting nearer to the door of the grave must not celebrate, but must cry and correct him/herself and turn to his/her Creator Allah (cc). As a matter of fact celebrating new year is absolutely a Christian tradition. Muslims must avoid celebrating it.

The Valentines day is celebrated all over the world as well by Muslims too. Its a matter of fact that being westernized is not the only thing that has changed Muslims mind living in Europe and America. The thing is what we see that we do.
