   Is it possible to be cured of alcoholism through belief in God, coming to Him through Jesus...
   
   Christ, and asking for His healing as the early AAs did?

   Heartfelt prayer and faith in God will definitely save one from the desire to drink. God helps those who help themselves. It is one's desire and willingness to stop drinking that will be totally supported by God's grace and mercy.

   I truly believe so. My own desires for a "partying" lifestyle (mainly just drinking beer) and going out all night and many nights...were transformed in an instant when I became closer to Jesus. All of the sudden, that  was under control. The desire to do that particular thing...all the time... just escaped me. So yes...I believe God can cure alcoholism in a blink of an eye...in his perfect timing.

   Yes, if Christ could be defeated by alcoholism, He would not be the holder of ALL power and authority.
   
   AA get people to curse themselves in every meeting when they are required to say they are recovering alcoholics.
   
   If you say that, you will stay that.
   
   If you give the authority to Christ, really give Christ 100% authority to change whatever in your life, you will be set free, and even better, in due time, you will be able to drink alcohol without excess.
   
   I went from a bottle of vodka a day with hash thrown in every 45 minutes, to clean and sober in one session, and I've delivered 'alcoholics' who have been trough rehab and spent five days in cold turkey, and seen them cleaned in one afternoon.
   
   Nothing stands against Christ, except you.

   My father passed away last year from lung cancer at the age of 68.
   
   My father had spent most of his life addicted to alcohol and used illegal drugs off and on during my formative years and into my early twenties.
   
   He was by definition an alcoholic.  As a child and then later as a young man I never saw my father sober. When he got home from work he would immediately start drinking. Children live what they know so I assumed that drinking everyday and being under the influence of alcohol was normal for men. At least in my household it was.
   
   According to my mother my father had been drinking since he was about 15 years old and possibly before that.
   
   I was twenty-five when my dad got saved and became a born again Christian. That would've made him about 50 years old when God removed alcohol from my dads life instantly.
   
   My father never drank again. Just stopped drinking.  The transformation in him stands as one of the most powerful testimonies of Gods healing power for me. Having grown up under the mans household for so many years to see what God did in him was very simply miraculous.
   
   Instantly my father stopped drinking, never did drugs again.
   
   Sigh...it was an absolute miracle.
   
   To Jesus be the praise and glory Amen.

   Yes but not always will it be a miracle or a wonderous event. Sometimes people have a deeply ingrained desire for alcohol and inspite of what they know and have lost and the many headaches and hangovers and through the lack of food they go back to it, over and over, time and time again.
               Matthew 21:44   And whosoever shall fall on this
               stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall
               fall, it will grind him to powder.
   Jesus christ is that stone.
   When temptation comes our way, if we earnestly desire to overcome that tempting, we pray, get on our knees and pray about everything we can think of, pray to god that the inclination to sin go away. Spend 3 minutes -
   40 hrs, whatever it takes.. but through prayer we can be strengthened by christ to not sin. If we do not desire change in ourselves and our lives, chances are we will not pray and we will end up sinning.
   We need to fall on the rock for strength and salvation.
