Enjoy being a parent again, avoiding old mistakes and more than likely making new ones.

I would assume it was meant to be and listen to my wife's feelings on the subject. I'd "man" up (again). Of course, I'm a woman, so I am saying what I would want my husband to do.

As a woman who has had ectopic pregnancies since having her tubes tied 17 years ago, I would rather HAVE a baby than lose another one (though I obviously chose to stop a long time ago).

And the Down Syndrome remark by someone else was just idiotic. For one, my young daughter has a baby with DS and I know a 47 year old who recently had a VERY healthy baby. For another, when you love a kid who has Down Syndrome, they bring NOTHING but joy to your life.  Okay... so that wasn't the question... but if DS is a concern for an older couple, they should know all the facts before choosing to end a kid's life for not being perfect.

well my father's eldest sister was 26 years older than my dad..My while my father was born , his eldest sister was already married and they never had that emotionally bonding..I still wonder how come they had such a huge age difference..

Suppose it happens to me and my wife, well can't blame wife because conceiving is because of both people...but i would rather try that such things dont happen at first place...

I am 63 years old and I have a 9 year old and a 6 year old and as nutty as it gets sometimes, I love every moment of it. I have two other children, 30 and 22, and I didn't get to raise them - I missed a lot. I just hope I'm around when my boys get married. Luckily my wife was young enough to avoid the many pits falls that creep up on women.
It used to bother me when I took the boys out. People would always comment, "How do you grandchildren like...and other such preconceived notions based on appearances. However, I began  to love to see their faces when I respond, "Oh, they are my sons...not grand-kids!"

i once worked with a lady whose two sons were in their twenties when she found out that she was pregnant again. her boys were thrilled, but not so much her husband early on because he thought she was getting it from somewhere else and it nearly ended their marriage.  she only found out because she missed a period and then had a very heavy one, went and saw the doc who told her that she was preg and that what she thought had been a period was most likely her miscarrying one of the twin girls she was carrying.  once the shock wore off, her and her husband were trilled because they were finally getting a daughter.

if it were me, it would be a miracle for it to happen, but then i would be pleased.  if you can have another baby, why wouldn't you as long as you were careful?

As a woman, I think I'd go nuts getting pregnant again. However, I love the kids I have and children are a blessing. It will just be difficult.
