What Is The Right Age To Stop Living Under The Same Roof With Your Parents?
It varies from culture to culture. In western culture, as soon as u turn adult & become self independent it would b alright if u move on.
In eastern culture, theres the concept of combined families where a son would live with his wife, children & parents altogether. In such scenarios, If someone leaves his/her parents after becoming self independent, society might title him as a selfish child. Rationally both cultural traits possess certain strengths & flaws. Statistically, we find relatively higher emotional bonding in combined families where as nuclear families are considered more mentally strong & possess the ability to produce more responsible persons for the society.
Theres no specific time for doing it. I would personally suggest to go for a win-win situation. Let ur parents decide wat do they really want & then decide what do u want, try to make it a synergistic effect!
The right age is the age you are when you've got a job that can care for your needs, and when you are spiritually, mentally and emotionally matured.
Our oldest went off right after high school, but the youngest stayed with us until she got married. We were happy to give her the opportunity to save up more money to begin her married life with.
In fact, we would have been happy to have her husband move in if they had wanted to sock away a bit more!
As parents, we always wanted to provide as best we could. Our kids were not spoiled, but they always knew they could count on us to help them in any way we could.
In America, some people are ready to become indepeandant right after high school, other people take a bit more time to learn how to be independent. It is a gut feeling, by both the parents, and child. When the child wants independance, does not want to the rules of their household, and wants to live independiantly. When the parents feel like that child is mature enough, independiant enough, and ready to live on their own. That is the age when you move out. Some children never become like this, and the parents still feel verry connected, so they may live toghther for ever. Hovever overall it is a gut feeling, and both partys know when it is time.
It's different for everyone but I think a smart option is living with your parents for a while even after college stockin' up on that money baby. Once you have a real job and a good start financially get a place and don't look back!
