What song(s) would you play at your funeral?
For now, I'd play "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd, "the W.A.N.D.," by the Flaming Lips, and "All Along the Watchtower" by Jimi Hendrix.
You want three?
Blimey.
Okay.
I'd have:
Always with me Always with you (the 10 minute live version) Joe Satriani
Stairway to heaven - Led Zeppelin
Comfortably numb - Pink Floyd and woe betide anyone who stops it before the end of the final guitar solo...
Elgar's Nimrod (Enigma Variations)
Samuel Barber's Adagio for strings
or
Brothers in arms - Dire straits.
Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits, the long version with all the words
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Jerusalem
Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks
Good Night by The Beatles
'Til I Die by The Beach Boys
Let It Be by The Beatles
Decades by Joy Division
Another One Bites the Dust is a tempting choice...however, I would like to stick to family tradition and go with bagpipes. Family funerals always include Amazing Grace and then a couple of favorites or those that describe the deceased, so for me it would also be Red River Valley and very possibly Paint Me Back Home in Wyoming. Luckily this family tradition has produced some very talented pipers.
I asked my Dad, whose ninety and a Christian, this question. He said "For all we know, we may never meet again" by Nat King Cole.
Sounds a bit agnostic, doesn't he?
I think Cyanide by Metallica would have my family a little confused....
Time to Say Goodbye by Andrea Boccelli and Sarah Brightman
Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum
Light My Fire by The Doors
Bob Dylan...Ït ain´t dark yet, but it´s getting there.
Free. .............. ´´Wishing Well´´
Sarah Brightman. .......... Time to say goodbye.
THat is a great question. I would personally use "I did it my way" by Frank Sinatra.
"Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. My brother played this at his sons funeral last month. Nick was a young (15) classic rocker
There is a light that never goes out- The Smiths!
or Break up the family- Morrissey
The Cowboy in Me....Tim McGraw
Live Like You Were Dying ....Tim McGraw
The Dance - by Garth Brooks
The Power of love - by Frankie goes to hollywood
