So I am just curious...are we really better off now that Obama is in office?

Did we get the results of "change" that was expected?  Who was the change really for us (as in the U.S.) or him?  I have decided that he has made a great change for himself and his family...I can't count how many vacations and shopping trips they have been on.  You know it is funny that during the campaign they pointed the finger at Sarah Palin for the cost of her wardrobe.  I just wonder how much WE are paying for the jet fuel that it takes to fly to France and back.  What ever happened to supporting America and American made products?

Thanks steve8miller I do agree with what you said about all of the previous "powers that be" messing things up too.  I was just under the impression--from Obama and his campaign--that he was going to be above all this crazy mess.  I feel that he is just as bad if not worse.  Although there are many people that are racist, I am not.  I take that back I am a little racist against stupidity and foolishness(but you can be of any race or nationality to be that way).  Besides I was under the impression that Obama actually has a white mother and a black father so I don't feel that he is "black".  Thanks for the answer and I will read your hub.

I think that there are limits to Presidential control. I doubt that things would be much different if McCain had won.

Complaints about wardrobes and vacations have also been going on for decades. It's always the party out of power that does the complaining, and then they make excuses when they are in control. If we want change, we should stop being manipulated by the standard crap that keeps people distracted and angry. We should also stop voting for people who tell us what we want to hear.
