Great question. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'pill?' Pill as in pharmaceutical drug? Or nutrient? I don't believe any condition/disease can be cured by a pill (drug) and not wholly by nutrients either. I believe it takes a holistic approach, a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis and contributing factors of a disease, to provide any real cure.
In my particular condition, Pyroluria, I do believe in treating this genetic biochemical abnormality, with essential nutrients, as a piece of the puzzle that is potentially a cure. Nutrients are 100% necessary for many bodily functions. In this particular condition, these nutrients are hugely depleted due to the abnormality in haemoglobin synthesis. Replacing them is one step towards cure, or I a better way of putting it is management of the condition.
There is no fixing the genetic fault with a pill, it is there. I do however believe we have enormous power within ourselves to heal even the deepest of illness....this kind of shift lies in the area of quantum physics.
In some cases, taking only the Zinc and B6 has provided full recovery in uncomplicated pyroluria. When there is an underlying digestive disorder, the treatment is more complex. In my case I had to take many different supplements, along with major dietary change so my GIT lining could heal. Now that it is all better, I only need to take my Zinc and B6. I am also able to eat the foods I was previously intolerant to. It can take a long time to heal the digestive tract if the same irritant foods are consumed over and over again, causing further damage and more nutrient malabsorption. It's a vicious cycle. Once broken, recovery can and is made.
I also made many emotional/mental shifts during the year, which I believe played a major role in healing.
I hope this answered your question
It's possible that antibiotics do actually help the healing process for what is a truly non-resistant bacterial illness. In some cases, they can help restore an out-of-whack balance. Other than that, I think various pills can sometimes help symptoms, but not truly cure. Still other pills, like vitamins, can help provide essential things our bodies need to stay healthy in the first place.
I usually take prophylactic medications when I feel that I might get sick but I wouldn't recommend that to everyone. I just do it because I can't allow myself to get sick due to my demanding job, and I haven't been sick for over 8 years (but maybe this is due to other effects such as a strong immune system etc. I can't tell )
