I want a handheld game that I can take with me to help when I have to wait a long time.

I want a handheld gaming system that I can play games like Tetris on.  I do not own a mobile phone so that is out.

I'd suggest either crossword puzzles, word finds, or sudoku. They're the easiest and cheapest. Plus, you don't have to worry about a battery running low or making sure it's charged before you go.

You can get a variety of handheld electronic games if you look in the game section at any store. They will satisfy your craving for wanting to play a game... but, if you are looking for games like Tetris you can check out Gamestop for used handheld games. They are more affordable and usually work just as well. If you want an investment, I would go for the PSP or the Nintendo DSI - both have internet capabilities, but then you also have to purchase games as well. Both can be a big investment.

You should get a Nintendo DS. My boys all have one and i am constantly playing on them lol. The DS has a huge selection of games so you shouldn't have a problem finding one you like, and they even have Tetris.

I would suggest a ds over a psp as most of the games on the psp are very expensive as well as focusing mainly on  fighting games. But ds games are more relaxed and easy going.

    Hi rieom

My favourite handheld entertainment device is a book.

Not the same book, of course, but a new one each time I finish the one I'm on. No wearout or boredom factor, with a new book available anytime I want.

There are several other advantages over electronic handhelds as well, including: cheap, recyclable, virtually indestructible (carry in hand, pocket, bag etc), less tempting to opportunist thieves if you should happen to inadvertently leave your book on the table after coffee, endless variety of topics, genres, and authors, (thus customisable to suit your exact personal preferences), non-irritating to fellow bus, plane, train passengers, and of course, books never need recharging, or batteries.

Plus, as a keen writer (I assume you are too, given you're a fellow Hubber..), I find reading is a great way to observe good writing skills and techniques, and learn from the talents of others. Education and entertainment in the one package. What's more, that learning is transferable, even convertible into money, if you use it to improve your own skills, and apply it when writing revenue-generating Hubs.

Of course, if you're totally committed to buying an electronic handheld, you can easily combine both worlds, and grab yourself a Kindle....
