What tips can you offer to others about finding time to write?

How do you manage your time so you have time to write (either on here or elsewhere) as well as take care of other obligations you may have?

Sometimes I stay up later at night because I don't sleep but about 4-6 hrs. I will write at time.

I really don't have much else to do.  Here's a tip though - whenever I go for a bicycle ride, I sometimes just explode with ideas to write about.  So I think exercise really helps.

I keep paper with me everywhere I go,  I keep a pen with me if I can and I have used the audio record feature on my cell phone  all for the purpose of note taking.  I work a regular job and jot down ideas as often as I can.

On the weekend I combine and organize my notes.  So far it is working out, if imperfectly.

I find I write when I am inspired. Dedicating a specific time to writing tends to leave me sitting thinking about what to write. Most of the time I will get inspired by something and then just sit down to write as much as I can. Mostly this is in the evenings when I have the time to think about my story.

I haven't figured it out yet. I have been juggling to write what I have written, and I have to back off a little and get other stuff back on track. Work just changed too - more time. I am going to sit down and figure it all out soon. I like writing and reading here.

Definitely carry a notebook/pad with you as often as you can. Ideas strike at the weirdest times. But having a notebook also allows you to write in the brief gaps of time you have while running other errands. For example, I wrote a short story once while sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office. We're tied to our computers a lot these days, but a pen and paper is portable, wireless and never runs out of battery life. The pages may get filled up, but if they do, then it means it's working.

Walking around with a pen and paper does not work for me. I get ideas from people and things around me so I have a notepad on my phone that I use to jot down my ideas. I also use it to take pictures of anything I find interesting to put in my hubs. It helps especially when i get an idea when I'm on the bus.
