Are general elections bogus? If not, why are there only a remaining election candidates?
*few- The 'feud' takes place between only 2 or 3 candidates that have fought to the elective limelight. This forces Americans to choose between candidates that are not preferred. How? By enforcing a minimum 3 party or more rule, the U.S. citizens would have a more accurate description of today's leadership, and a better variety!
General elections are not bogus in the sense that they are rigged or fixed or false. They are bogus in the sense that they don't really mean anything. You vote your conscience and a Democrat or a Republican wins the presidency. The opportunity to write in your own candidate is discouraged heavily and on some ballots there is no place at all to do so. Businesses are treated as people so they get a 'vote' by funnelling money to their candidates (which are also either Republican or Democrat) and their 'vote' counts a LOT more than yours or mine...
Actually, come to think of it.. that DOES mean that elections are rigged. They certainly aren't fair or designed to get the public heard. Your vote has been hijacked. Long live the emperor. "Emperor" in this case means "Corporate Profits"
A three party system would be a disaster because no one would have a mandate if each candidate got some percentage of the vote. Without a clear mandate, they would have less influence on what happens in Congress. We have plenty of choices during the primary, and we choose the candidate who the majority feel is the strongest. I don't think that's "rigged" or bogus, it's just the way it works here and so far it's worked just fine. We've had stable government since our founding, unlike many other civilized countries in the world.
