You find a magic lamp. You rub it and a genie appears. It offers 3 options; you must choose one...

...but only one. What do you choose, and why?
    1. Power over all others
    2. Power to turn back time
    3. Power over death

I prefer "power to turn back time". Being in the future gives me the Knowledge to control past events. As such, I should be able to go back in time to manipulate options: 1. and 2.

Power to turn back time is my choice. That is because the power to do that gives you at least the opportunity to right many other wrongs.

Power over all others. Because I'm a good man, I will help good people and punish wrongdoers, and will have power to stop all evil things. LOL!

Power over death. The other two will accomplish noting if you die.
Plus I would never have to watch my pets die. I really hate that.

What choices.... I can see at least one benefit for choosing any of these.  After thinking about this for a moment I would choose power to turn back time.  The reason is---with the knowledge I have now, I would go back and right a few wrongs...things that, at the time, I didn't know were wrong.  But more than anything I would take care of me and I would not have stopped writing.

None of them. I would merely thank the genie for his offer and rely on a higher source for all forms of power.

I would choose the power to turn back time. I could make right all of my wrongs, and I could relive all of the future wonderful moments of my life. And, if I truly had the power to turn back time, I could have a never ending honeymoon.
I would very much enjoy that. smile

While tempted beyond measure, I hope I would respectfully decline all three options.  Power over others, while appealing in a massive kind of way, is not cool because they should have the same freedoms as I.  The power to turn back time, to me is the most appealing, but yet I fear also the most dangerous.  Theoretically, it could/would have a ripple effect and changing the choice of the candy bar you ate at a play date could magically erase/change the rest of your life without you having ever considered it.  Lastly, the power over death sounds like winning the lottery.  But you know, many lottery winners wind up more miserable than they were before winning.  If you never die, after a while, what is there left to live for?  All the people you love would be gone.  And if you could keep all of you alive, that would pose it's own problems as well.  While all three of these sound like the deal of a lifetime, I'm afraid each would up and bite me in the behind eventually.

I would go for the time change to at least attempt to correct the errors of mankind and end uo with a better world.

However if I did it would change the course of history and I would no longer exist, kind of a bummer isn't it.

I wouldn't want power over death if I had no power over age.

So I suppose I would choose power over all others.

Interesting question. I would put the genie back in the lamp and run.  The genie may appear to grant the wish but the higher powers that may be watching may still have other plans.  I think it best to just live as a mortal the best one can live and hope all ends well.
