Has your life, family, city, etc. changed since 911 terrorist attack?
How has your life, your city, or your family changed in the last 10 years since 911 terrorist attack?
Are you afraid more? Do you see restrictions you never saw before? Are your schools safer? Are you afraid of anything or anyone? What do you think?
Things are improving but a fear of in-security is always there whether it is your city or mine. But it is a fact that a man, woman or child who died in these terrorist attacks have not been forgotten by their family, friends and loved ones. This is a life, which must go on and thus enforcing any kind of restrictions we never saw before is a welcome step for sake of the people.
My little family has certainly changed. Before 911, I thought it was absolutely ridiculous for a kid to have a cell phone - now, I wouldn't have it any other way. I was in a complete panic (I was working in Downtown Atlanta at the time - it was chaotic) trying to reach my kids school with all of the lines down & cell traffic clogged - When the lines were back open, I could only reach the school itself - I wanted to be able to talk to my kids, but I couldn't until later in the day.
Also, I travel a lot, and the obvious airport changes are a bit of a hassle, but I have gotten used to it over time.
Yes, life has changed but not necessarily because of the attack. People change over time and 9/11 happened when I was only in high school. I have lived in 3 cities since then and now have a husband and daughter who is almost 2. I consider myself a Christian as of January 2011, as well. I am not afraid, worrying doesn't make anything better, especially worrying about things that may never happen. I have faith in God to do his will and that's all I can do really. Schools can't get any worse right now with the constant shootings and so on. We can only do our best to educate today's youth in hopes that they will grow into good people. Good people make for a safer environment. I think we have to do our best to be kind to our neighbors and if you don't get along with them then at least be civil. I certainly believe in the domino effect. Show kindness to your neighbors and they will do the same for theirs and so on and so forth. We are all blessed with certain skills and a purpose and we need to use them each day with the hope that the next day will be even brighter!
I think the most significant change for me is a deeper appreciation for those who serve us-- be it military, local police, or politician--they have a difficult and often thankless job. This article says it all for me:

If a Terrorist attack of similar magnitude to September 11th happened today, would America unite? Our nation politicizes everything; from sports, to television, to global migration, history, and now even natural disasters. The current environment of the nation is anti-police, anti-republican,...

Worse? The O not knowing he lost the debate until 24 hours later or two weeks for a terrorist attackObama was walking around thinking he had won the debate with Mitt Romney for at least 24 hours after he got shellacked. It took at least two weeks for him to admit that Benghazi was a terrorist...

You're over 12.000 times more likely to be killed by a gun then by a terrorist attack. In thew US there where 24 deaths from islamist terrorism between 2005 and 2015. But there where 301,797 gun deaths in the same period!!In the 70's and 80's the risk of a terrorist attack was greater then nowadays....
