What do you think is wrong with the Mind-Body Theory introduced by Descartes?
Hmm . . . this is a hard question.
What I would say is wrong with it is that Descartes separates the mind from the body when he should have separated the soul from the body. I have no problem saying that, if there is such a thing as the soul, the soul is separate from the body in the way that Descartes separates the mind from the body. Plato does this. However, the mind seems to be 'caught up' in the body in a way not predicted by Descartes' theory.
Their is a whole host of scientific literature that shows that damage to the body - mainly the brain - can lead to damage to what Descartes calls the mind. Someone with prefrontal cortex damage will display all sorts of problems making decisions and judgments. This should not be possible on his theory. If the mind is truly separate from the body, it should not be harmed by this sort of damage. This was discussed extensively in a very good book called Descartes' Error.
That said, there is something very compelling about Descartes "I think therefore I am" argument. While he may not have gotten the details right, I do think he was on to something important.
I think it need some "spiritual knowledge" to complete his equations.Matter and spirit are 2 different explanations. Terrestrial cannot explain what is Celestial. Intelligence cannot be based on a material substance such as the mind nor the body of the physical. To speak is spiritual,to give credit to materialism as to it's function is going in the wrong direction.
My favorite sushi roll when I want to treat myself is Ikura with Raw Quail Egg
My view is that Descartes got it all wrong. From a scientific perspective, every thought in the mind is also a neural pathway lighting up in the brain. Every feeling is a flow of hormones. Our posture affects our thinking, and breathing well increases our clarity of mind.
In Chinese medicine, each acupuncture point has several meanings: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. Each and every thought and feeling is related to the state of our bodies.
Buddhist practice teaches us to be aware of mind and body as one. I've done this for 30 years, and I can say, for me, Descartes was just wrong. The health of my spirit and the energy of my body are deeply interconnected. Yes, I can be in good spirits when the body is ill, and I can be bummed out when healthy. But the two are so deeply interconnected that I don't think of them as separate. I see how they all relate together.

I have chosen Descartes to begin my study in rational thinking. Rene Descartes is famous for the quote "I think, therefore I am."I want to make a stab and go a bit further.Things I know:I exist.I think.I can determine that some thoughts are more "good" than others.Therefore,...

Did you know that the expression "A sound mind in a sound body" was incomplete? It was one of my mother's favourite expressions and it was delivered to me on a daily basis when I was a child. In Latin. Maybe because she was a doctor and I was a sickly weakling. Now, my son...

The soul, by definition, is meta-physical and is thought that the soul would be connected to the brain, not within the brain. It used to be thought that the soul resided in your heart - but getting a heart transplant doesn't make you into a different person. So - if some time in the future -...
