What are your practices to keep "young at heart" as you grow older?
I've just turned 55 and am already tired of friends, of similar age, complaining of aches and pains because they are getting older. Would love to hear about others "keep young at heart"
regimes.
I love the picture - it really made me smile!
I think the phrase 'we don't stop laughing because we grow old - we grow old because we stop laughing' is good advice.
So my advice would be keep laughing. That way all our wrinkles will be got by happiness too!
Happy Birthday! I believe the fountain of youth is found in our laughter. Laugh every day and you will stay young. If that means watching comedies, or going to a comedy show- so be it.
And excerise! walking, swimming, weights, whatever is managable will always work wonders for youre health and attitude.
I make sure i keep my spirituality in tack.It is good for all ailments. The increase of who we are in this world, will do you better than pills and portions. Scientist overlook one thing in their equations of who we are and how we exist in this world...........our "spiritual existence". So that is like leaving out most of the ingredients in the cake. It won't taste the same.
I think staying connected with like minded people. Perhaps younger if all the ones your age are complainers. They can be so depressing and it is easy to get caught up in that negative way of looking at life. Laugh, even at yourself or your own jokes. Every day is a new beginning and we choose to either view it positively or negatively.
If you have kids they will keep you young. Never grow up totally, you should always keep a bit of the kid in you. My Husband and I always muck around with our kids and they love it.
just listen to your favorite love songs everyday to feel young at heart always and also exercise daily
I don't think it's a matter of having a "regime". I think you either stay young at heart or don't. Sometimes, in fairness to some who are not, health problems do make feeling youthful difficult. I kind of think, for the most part, people are often "old at heart" decades before they're 50 or 55, but nobody calls them "old at heart" because they have their chronological age that says otherwise. They start out old-at-heart. Their age catches up. And, there you have it - an old, old-at-heart, person. LOL When you're young and you're young-at-heart age does nothing to change you for the most part. So you end up old but young-at-heart.
I'm the same "me" now that I was decades ago, and while I know I'm a whole lot wiser now than I once was, I really don't feel at all any older (thankfully). Maybe the only thing I really consciously do is to refuse to have my age define me and dictate what I'll do or not do (and according to someone else's idea of what over-50 is). I define what being over 55 is for myself; and, to me, being over 55 means still feeling very much the same as I did decades ago. (In fairness to people with medical problems, though, there's a certain amount of understanding friends and family need to have. Living with a long-term/chronic medical problem has a way of knocking the young-at-heart right out of people after awhile.
I don't have any regime, but I do believe that having a positive mental attitude helps to have a happier life. I am 46, but inside I feel like 26. Make time for yourself to relax. Keep in touch with friends and family. Do what you want to do as long as it doesn't hurt others, after all we only get one shot at life, so I want to make mine count.
I will be reaching that age of yours.
We may be old but our hearts can be young. I still enjoy doing stuff that youngsters are doing. My children are in the teens so I participate in their activities.
As long as your heart is young, you can still have a young life. Only those who are giving up their lives, it should always be bright and enjoyable.
Just keep your self happy. You know, happiness is a choice, it is not caused by the situation, it is in what we choose to feel about it. Negative feelings, grudges and worries are leading contributors of deterioration, and so keeping yourself happy and positive about life is as good as regular diet and exercise. Also, always have time to play your childhood games, whatever that is, and finally always have time to be with kids.
Laughter. Contact with young kids. And not paying any attention to a few silly digits. They will never have the right to tell me how old I should feel!

Do you think age makes a person more mature?Whether you are 20 or 50 years old, do you think that the older you are, the more smarter you are because you have been through more in life?

Why? I think that every age has its charm: I want to become old .... (Oh I am 36 years old)

Can an old man (60+) fall in love with a young woman (20+)?We all know that love ignores all barriers like: religion, race, distance and age. But is it really possible for a man of 65-70 years of age to fall in love with a young girl of 20-25 years of age. I mean, is it psychologically possible?

Why on earth do you think 60 year old wrinkly fat bald men get 21 year old girls?Even if it were “natural,” there’s nothing innocent or harmless or healthy about older men pursuing ceaselessly younger women. The cost is high to everyone involved. While a few young women may be attracted to much...
