In America, Cricket is just an ugly bug that makes an annoying sound. I know it is played as a game in the U.K. but is it a professional game? Do 100,000 people attend the matches as they do for American & European Football? Are there any teams or is it played in the backlots and by the school kids on the Common? Sorry, but in our country this game is not even as big as a cricket.
yeah ... Billrrr ... not many people seem to know about cricket in america. It is played by a number of countries and there is a world cup in cricket which is quite huge. well known teams are - west indies, england, pakistan, india, bangladesh, sri-lanka, australia and south africa. there are a lot more countries which participate to qualify for the world cup which is held every 4 years.
the crowds are not as huge as football crowds but world cup matches or 20/20 tournaments fill the stadiums - about 45,000 people or so.
prasadjain - yes i think all sports should be encouraged.
