When it comes to poetry, what inspires you the most? And what is your favorite genre to write about?

    Jesus.   that is all.

the answer was too short but he helps me and inspires me.
he's probably not my favorite to write about directly, but indirectly writing about him is great fun.
    thank you Jesus.

My emotions are a great inspiration. Whenever I feel upset I write them my feelings down in a poem. My poems usually are about mental illnesses because I like to help others out, personally I know how difficult it can be.

What inspires me the most are the people around me, friends, strangers, and the events that they are involved in.. I like crime drama in my poetry and a touch of realism

When ever i feel that my soul needs to speak itself, I just close my eyes and let my pen do the rest in a white piece of paper. That is all there is to it...let your soul express...whenever...however...either it is love that pulls the triger or frustration or any other...

My heart defines my poetry, there's one called , The Empty Chair, on my page. I wrote that in pain over the loss of my brother. I   was  asked to revise it and read it at my father in laws funeral. All because when he used to read it he'd cry. So I know other people stare at their empty Chairs too, so I posted the original copywrited version. So I really have to say it comes sincerely from my heart.

Good question.  I think what most "inspires" me is pain.  I'm not sure if I'd call it "inspire" though.  Writing is like therapy when emotions are reeling.  Love and joy also inspires me.  And I guess I get inspired by curiosity, too.  My favorite genre--hmmmmm.  I don't know that I have a favorite.  I guess it just has to be meaningful in some way.  I want what I write to somehow touch another person's heart.
