   Olive oil. I use it any time I cook including for cooking omelets.

   best for what? It depends what you are cooking. Sometimes you want a tasteless oil such as vegetable oil. Sunflower oil is good.
   
   Olive oil is also good but it has a flavour, which some people do not like. However never use extra virgin olive oil for cooking, it is an expensive  waste, extra virgin is for salad dressings. Use a lower quality olive oil, if you are going to cook with it.

   Every one has an opinion here on this one for sure, so I will throw in my two cents.
   I do like olive oil for its nutty flavor and for the lack of harmful fatty acids, so thumbs up there; but my favorite is toasted sesame oil hands down!
   If you can find it buy some and use it for cooking, I'm sure you will like, if not love it.

   Coconut oil or peanut oil are best for cooking because they can handle higher temperatures than other oils.

   I have read several articles that state coconut oil is absolutely the best cooking oil, even better than olive oil.

   Mustard oil is the best for cooking and not so expensive with respect to other cooking oils.

    Olive oil and canola oil are best all around. Contains healthy properties good for inflammation.

    In my experience, it would have to be virgin coconut oil. 
    
    - It has no known side effects.
    - It lowers bad cholesterol and helps improve good cholesterol.
    - It's nutrients and health properties are unmatched by any other oil.
    - It's also multipurpose.  Aside from cooking, it can be used as a moisturizer, a makeup remover, etc.
