I am not sure.I try and keep it around 400 words sometimes longer, it depends on the article. No, you need to have it published before it appears on search engines.

I think it's 300 -but try for at least 400, 600 is better. Hubpages says the longer the better score on that article. But I wouldn't put all of it in one huge long text. I would break it up with a poll, picture, or a video.

But what about poetry? So no - on certain types of writing I don't think there is a minimum at all for certain kinds of writing.

I'm not sure what it is, but I know there is a minimum.  I know that if you have an Amazon capsule, you will need at least 50 words as a description to keep it from being overpromotional.

But why try to write the minimum?  If you want your hubs to be successful, you should explain whatever the topic is thoroughly, so that your readers will want to come back again to read it, and refer other readers to it.

I agree with ptosis.  Make separate paragraphs, and separate headings so it is easy to read.

Personally, it depends upon the topic or the article that I write. If it is a little bit unfamiliar or too scientific, I use liberate amount of words in order to convey my point clearly to my readers. However, be careful with the word 'liberate' because you wouldn't want to end up writing a hub full of redundant statements. Just do your best to keep it straight and concise. Here in Hubpages, the topmost priority is the CONTENT of each published hub. I think worrying about the number of words per hub should be your least concern. smile

I keep it between 300 and 700. The quality of the hub is the concern. Not the number of words. You can write a 1000+ hub and get your readers craving for more if you put more emphasise on the quality of the hub.
