Definitely cat all the way. While I love a lot of different types of animals, I love the independence cats display. There is no specific domestic breed I can think of right now that I would like to have. My current cat is part tabby and part calico. But if I had my druthers I would want an ocelot, lynx, or clouded leopard. I can dream, can't I?

Hello Akeezer, i must say it OUTLOUD, i rather cats. i normally like any cat or dog, they are just nice creatures. But i rather cats. Why? Simple, i see that cats not always do what we want, they must first be "conquered" by us. The way they talk with us is smoother. The touch we feel when we stroke them is unique. And i personally love to care my own cat and the response i got from him is precious

    Cheers

    I do so like a cat........their independence, their purring.........they are a comfort.......

But they offer  you so little companionship or protection when compared to a dog.

No barkers at the moon,  or yippers for me..........give me a dog, big, strong and muscular......

let him earn his keep by protecting my yard, vehicle, children by his sheer ability to tear  apart an intruder.........

when walking alone, be  it in  the city or in the rural areas, I wish not a cat to be my protector, but a large and able dog.

Give me, the shepard, the rottweiler, the boxer.......a dog who's bite is more severe than his occassional bark.

He will be well rewarded and cared for in return.

The pit bull, has such a bad reputation ( though, the owners are often the more guilty), that I just can not risk the children of my neighborhood.

I like cats, but only when they're outdoor/indoor cats that can fend for themselves. It is my personal belief that cats kept indoors their entire life go a little bonkers in the head. They...just aren't right.

Or perhaps I'm just a dog person. My favorite canine companions are Dobermans, Rottweilers, Border collies, and Corgis.
