Should I go with a titanium wedding band, (ring for the husband) or something else?

The choices vary on wedding bands, from traditional gold to simple stainless steel. What would you suggest and why?

Depends on his lifestyle. If he is pretty active the steel ring is stronger than gold (which is a soft metal).

I would suggest you get the basics out of the way first; cost and size. The cost of the ring will determine quite a bit as well as size (thickness).
Choose a metal that is suitable to your mans life style; some metals are soft and won't stand up to too much wear and tear.
Go with your mans style: strong gold band; simple thin silver band; thick band with a single gem stone (birth stone).
Choose a ring that is comfortable to wear; compliments his finger/hand (skinny band on chubby finger); suits his other jewelry.
Other things to consider: do you want to get it engraved; coordinate with yours; be unique; get it made etc etc.
Choose a ring that looks good and suits his personality.
I have a hub about choosing your wedding ring; you might find a tip or two there.
Congrats and best of luck smile

What does he want? What is his lifestyle? How responsible is he with jewelry? If he is active, doesn't care, and a bit irreponsible steel.

Titanium rings are neat but I hear they scratch easily.  After looking at all kinds of materials and designs, including ceramics, I ultimately decided to go with a tungsten carbide band. It is a beautiful and durable ring that is very low maintenance.  I have had mine for nearly four years and it still looks brand new. Considering that I work with my hands a lot, durability and scratch resistance was very important to me.  The downside to tungsten carbide is that it is a heavy material that cannot be re-sized.   They have plenty of tungsten carbide rings to fit every man's style and look.

My son has a tungsten ring--it is both handsome and substantial.  Men who do hard work should consider the harder metals.
