   Hi tgopfrich
   I see from your profile that your husband works away from home - that must be difficult for you.
   
   If he's coming home around Valentine's Day then I'd suggest a gift that will allow you to spend time together, perhaps theatre tickets or dinner at his favourite restaurant.
   
   If he's going to be away, then your gift should be something that reminds him of you. How about a pair of cell phones or a calling card so that you can spend Valentine's Day evening talking to each other? Or make him a short video or sound recording to tell him how much you miss him!

   Well, I once gave mine a hand made coupon book that would allow him to redeem coupons as desired.  Things like:  Redeem this coupon for one of your favorite meals.  Redeem this coupon is for a nice massage, etc.  He loved it, and it was fun for both of us!

   Those are both great ideas! Thank you and yes geoffclarke it is very hard for me especially with our 15 month old. But I have mass amounts of respect for my husband for what he is doing for our family

   You know your husband better than we do, but as you have asked I will try to answer. Get your husband something personal. Does he like a particular hobby or partake in sport. Men like the idea that the women in their lives understand them enough to go out and get them something for themselves.
   An example of this is, I enjoy climbing hills so my wife has booked 3 days away in a lovely place where we can do some exploring. At the same time I can checkout the local hills and see what is available for me to do at a later time. She knows I will be concentrating on the hills and not on her, well during day light hours! but she is prepared to do this because she loves me. Isn't that what's valentines days all about.
