What are your daily strategies on HubPages?
Are you consistent in your daily strategies?
I don't have any. I enjoy hubpages for the for the simple reason that everyone is so diverse and can write about the same topics in a unique way.
I check the hubs , the question , the answer,I made. And when I find some thing I this agree upon I make it a hubs. Like the hubs I post yesterday, on getting Votes,UP,Down, yes or on.But that was taken down,is an issue .But can't be address
any more. I mite get a violation if I do.That is how I start,if I can if any I think of one.something that would get any ones attention, and just leave the reader with,WHAT
I pretty much do a little bit of everything here at hubpages, anywhere fromt Q&A here, forum postings, commenting after reading hubs, writing my own hubs, editing daily as many as I can get through, searching for trending topics, checking my stats, fan following and leaving insightful messages, looking for updated comments, fanmail, checking for comments, and so much more its tough to keep track of it all, but I love the activeness.
Good Question
My daily routine on HubPages generally starts with checking for new comments. If there are any, I approve them and make the appropriate responses. After that I check which of my hubs is hot, which ones are rated best and what the traffic totals are. Once I get through all that I'll check on any questions I asked recently for new answers and find new questions that I can respond to. Sometimes I go in search of new hubs to read, but usually that comes from the stream I get in my email or on the log-in page. Posting new hubs, however, is a completely random occurrence based on when inspiration strikes.
I am trying to visit the site regularly after being absent for quite sometime so I still don't have a daily routine. As I already confessed I write privately for my own pleasure - I love to write and I am a daywriter...
By the way very good question!
I aim to publish a hub twice a week. In between, I take time out for Q&A, hub hopping, replying to comments, reading hubs, checking my stats( this is by far the most frequent).
However I wish I could allocate fixed days for hub reading and hub hopping so that I am more active there.
With hubpages I try and check out at least one or two hubs from people that I like to read from more if time allows. Check answers for something I like if it is on top and then focus time on i spend on the site writing my next hub. When I have bigger chunks of time i do more exploring and participate in voting up and down content in the stream of hubs.
When I first log into hubpages, I check out any comments that have been left, and then reply to them. I try to answer at least 10 question every day. Next I do some hub hopping and aim to read and reply to around 5 per day. I read the home page for any new hubs that interest me. I check in at the forums and read and comment on any topics that I am interested in. I probably spend an hour a day on hubpages. I try to write 2 hubs a week on here, but that is very much dependent on when I get in from work and if I am needed to be a taxi for my daughters social life!
I check for comments and respond and I always try to hop hubs. While hopping, I comment and vote up, etc., if they are well written. I also flag inappropriate hubs.
One thing I stumbled on is looking for the latest Hubbers and reading their hubs & welcoming them to the site. I've only been on here a few weeks, and it meant a lot to me to be welcomed. I know there are some designated greeters here, but we are a community, so I want to be welcoming.
Reading hubs from very new members is interesting - I've spotted underage Hubbers, people promoting illegal activities, hubs that weren't in English and a variety of other issues. It's especially interesting very early in the morning.
As for writing - too new to have a regular pattern, but I'm working on my 30 in 30. So far, 18 down, 12 to go. About two weeks left.
You are right on track Marcy. To your success in completing 30 in 30 days. Keep up the good work.
Right now I am in the mode of creating a new hub or two each weekend. My traffic is down so even improving some of my older hubs is on my list. Yes, answering questions and reading new hubs on my favorite topics is super important too.
My email will have shown any of my hubs that have comments, and I will reply to those as a priority every day. Then I check my hubpages account to ensure that any problems on my hubs are sorted out and to check need my attention (traffic falling, that sort of thing). Then I try to hop a few hubs until I have found one or two to comment on. Finally I will check a few questions to see if I can give any useful answers. I need to write more hubs and spend more time in the forum so, to answer this question, perhaps I am not as consistent as I should be!

I have been hub hopping lately and I am disgusted with the incoherent garbage that I am coming across - nothing but poorly translated articles of about 400 words, usually without even any formatting. I would say that more than half of the articles I randomly encounter are clearly nothing but spun...

What does everyone think of the new "Hub Hopping" process?Maybe, it's just me, but it is a little frustrating, and it was fun, but now? Not so sure about it. I may just need to adjust to it and keep at it before I make any final conclusions.

There are a lot of terrible junk hubs here that are damaging to all the hardworking writers that are a major source of good content, be it commercial or otherwise.I would love to see as many hubbers as possible flagging crappy hubs with zero appeal.Lets take out the trash.

I like hopping hubs, learning new things and meeting other hubbers. However, I have absolutely no interest in reading hubs on religion, politics, poems, fictional stories or some far away place I will never visit so I skip them. Usually this is no big deal but I just hopped about 30 hubs and no...

I have read numerous hubs while hopping that I thought would be great if the writer did some editing or word smithing. I thought it would be nice to let people know that thier piece could be so much better with out trying to hurt anyones feelings. I have commented on a couple of pages...

When you log into HP for the first time in a day, what do you look for first? Stats, comments, other posts, what?I look at the comments next to my userpic so that if I am able I can reply to that first. Then I look at the most recent notifications. After that I switch over to HP email.
