If by chance, electricity vanished, what do you see happening in your life and the large cities?
no electricity = no sewage treatment plant = no toilets = no water (after reserves are used up) = no fire fighting capacity.
Time to get out of the big cities.
btw... The Holy Spirit gave me a message a few years ago: One day, there will be a major event and all the major businesses will shut down, there WILL be no electric... when that happens, "you have 24 hours to get out of the major cities".
Our society would crumble due to the fact people are not prepared and wouldn't know how to deal with such a crisis situation.
I think there will be chaos around but I would be staying at home for at least a week or two to allow time for some of the chaos to die down and the bulk of the dangerous people to die off before I try going anywhere. Then I would head for a safe place if I don't have more supplies to get me through a longer stay. This is all part of self sufficiency and the more reliant we become on modern conveniences, the more important it is to take a little time and effort to at least somewhat prepare for something like this. For example, loss of electricity happened multiple times in the north during the snowy winter last year. Everyone should prepare to survive at least several days without outside assistance and understand the fact that if there is a long term loss of power such as weeks or more, that you will be in greater danger if you venture outside among desperate people who did not plan well. This underlines the importance of planning and a little self-sufficiency.
All I will say is, by the end of this year, we just MIGHT get a sample of that very thing. We will wait and see. Greg
If electricity vanished, in all its forms, so will 95+% or the citizenry of 1st world countries. Don't forget that all forms of mechanical transportation will go with it, along with all food and water deliveries including wells. How close is free flowing (clean) water and can you walk that far through crazed and fearful mobs?
Even most farmers, say in the midwest, will perish with water available only through the use of wells - wells that they cannot drop a bucket into and pull out water.
All hell would break loose, most likely. It would probably be anarchy and chaos for a while, then the survivors would start living like a tribal culture and hopefully spread out in large groups per tribe. After that, we would eventually restart some primitive wars amid the people, kill each other some more, organize the savage from the tame, and so on...
Yikes! I better stock up on alcohol and ammunition! Ha!
The large cities would be plunged in chaos. People like me would retreat to the country where we would go back to the old ways of hunting, fishing, building primitive shelter, etc. However, it would be very difficult because we have become spoiled. I hope this never happens to anybody! Good question!
Coming soon to a country near you. City folk have very little knowledge of how to survive. Food comes from stores or the food bank. They have never raised it themselves. Therefore to exist, they will need to TAKE it from someone else. If you have some type of food storage, are you willing to defend it? The rural areas will need to be prepared. These people in the cities will very quickly run out of food & water, and start looking nearby for it. Are you ready to defend it? The Farms & ranches are further out. The crowds will have died down before reaching here. YES I'm willing to defend it.
My life would be fine. I only need paper. Plus then I might be able to get a horse for riding around. We are in Texas, it would be very easy transformation. Plus think of all the weapons we would have for protection without video cameras, or tazers.
Nothing good for society in general. I'm not worried about surviving without electricity. Electric has only been around for less than 150 years. The problem is that most people do not understand that chicken does not come from KFC. So as for large cities and those in living in the cities, they had better be locked-n-loaded because it would be Darwinian.
