In reference to Matthew 6:20, how do you think one can "store up treasures in heaven" ?
Consider Matthew 19:29 "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."
Also, consider yourself, What things will our Father in Heaven reward?
By being intimate with God and working with God in the power and direction of the Holy Spirit.
By telling the gospel to folks, by encouraging one another in the faith, by walking in the good works laid out for you as per Eph. 2:8-10. The contrast between earthly "stuff" and heaven's spiritual rewards is the point of the passage.
I personally think it's talking about your personal relationship with God - Keep your life pure and right & do what God commands. eg love one another, Forgive, repent

Ask and you shall receive; If you truly, want too! You Can lie to yourself, but you can not Lie to the Father. Correctly and Humbly Give what you have received as best as you can. And as often as possible for you to give. Sing the Song of Praises; unto your Lord and Savior and your cup shall over runneth. In Heaven and upon this earth.

For the very many years I was in Church attendance, the Kingdom of God was always equated with Heaven. It was a future event that only those who believed in Jesus would see either when they died or were raptured, whilst the remainder of humanity would go to hell. A Christian could be disqualified...
