   That is purely up to the parent.
   
   Soon as some pathetic government says "no" to anything - then you've got something that is not the rightful authority of a child assuming the position of parent - and this is the exact sort of un natural garbage that globalist elites wish to instill in the minds of everyone.
   
   Parents shouldn't parent - the state should be the parent - this is the goal of The Rockefeller Foundation in America - destroy the family, the state should be the family.
   
   While it is probably not wise to give much alcohol to children - the facts are that small doses of it are relatively harmless, and in nations such as France - children of ten years often drink.

   No they shouldn't be allowed to consume alcohol for a number of reasons, first because the parents would be teaching the child that it's okay to break the law, the parent is breaking the law by allowing consumption of an alcoholic beverage to someone underage and the child could possibly have the alcoholic gene that if triggered could cause far more serious consequences.

   I'm going to say yes, unless the parents don't want them to. In a lot of places in Europe, there is no drinking age for beer and wine (need to be 18 for hard liquor), so kids can drink whenever they want. This sounds bad, but they learn responsibility very early on. Here in America, kids want what they can't have, so alcohol becomes this huge thing and its a big deal if you drink underage. While kids here are partying and binge drinking at the age of 18, kid in Europe are having a small glass of wine with their parents at dinner. Its all about learning how to handle yourself!

   I don't think that alcohol should be given to kids because I have heard that their livers are not equipped to process it properly.  But I agree that the USA and some other cultures make a big deal out of drinking and so kids want to do what they are not allowed.  Maybe if drinking is explained to them like driving a car is, that there is a legal age because it is for adults and requires being responsible.
   
   Parents should drink responsibly around their kids.  I don't think tasting wine or beer is a bad thing.  I had a sip of my dad's beer by accident (thinking it was ginger ale) and that put me off wanting to try it again, lol.  So, parents could also tell their kids that they can have a 'sip' of some not-so-nice alcohol as a deterrent.
   
   I think that the culture of drinking in Australia can be the problem too.  A lot of people accept heavy or binge drinking as being normal and almost expected.  This can put a lot of pressure on young drinkers to 'keep up with their friends'.
