I think sometimes it depends on where your wealth is coming from.  Sometimes it may seem stressful in order to keep wealth and with wealth comes much power.  So I will think that it becomes stressful at some point.

Being poor generally means no health insurance or basically catastrophic health insurance, so those better off usually have better health care and tend to not wait until they collapse to go to the hospital. If you have plenty of money, you can find pretty damn good health care in the US.

Wealth does have an effect on health.  I wrote about how healthy foods are typically more expensive ...
    http://blissfulwriter.hubpages.com/hub/ … -Expensive

If one is on a budget, one will try to get the least expensive food that will keep stomach full.  And those are processed carbohydrates and foods that come in boxes, which are not always the healthiest.

In addition, they may be working two jobs in order to make ends meet.  Hence, they do not have time to cook at home, which is the healthiest option.  Instead, they stop by fast food restaurants where they can get a full meal at low cost.

There are poverty stricken geographical areas where it is not even possible to buy fresh fruits and vegetables even if one has money.  That is because there are no grocery stores in the area.  There are only have convenience stores and gas stations where they get chips and soda and pastries -- which are obviously not healthy.   It also means no tennis courts, parks, and swimming pools for exercise.  Did I mention there was no time?

Unfortunately wealth has a lot of influence on whether a person is treated fully and appropriately in today's medical profession. With all of the law suits and cut backs in money available for medical needs and the sudden burdening of extra people to wait on, the stress is taking its tole, and many people are not receiving the kind of care necessary to meet their needs. The rumors of more cut backs and economic perils make the problems more intense. The wealthy are able to afford specialists and all of the needed medical help as fast as they wish. We are talking about ten percent of the population. The so-called middle class now is suffering at great length and many whose incomes were capable to afford high payment medical coverage, no longer can afford the increases in the costs. Perhaps some day our society will devise a new way in providing adequate health and medicine practices for those in real need.

I know many poor people who have much better medicaid (government insurance) than we have as middle class. We would have better if we were rich but the middle class here in America work very hard just to be able to afford the same quality of insurance that poor people recieve while on medicaid. At one point I was at a tie in life where I needed government healthplan and it covered anything, no co pays, no monthly fees. You could go to the doctor when ever you wanted. All prescriptions were covered. Everything. My family only goes to the doctor when required now that we are middle class.
