Is it true that consuming of more water will cause pot-belly?
Maybe initially because you're taking in water, but it does kick start your metabolism to break down the food you eat. Apparently drinking a glass of water 15 mins before eating a meal can make a substantial difference to how quickly your body breaks it down.
If you drink a lot, it may temporarily distend your stomach but it is quickly taken care of. In fact the more water you drink the more fluid and excess fluid your body will shed.
I consumed too much water two weeks ago and my abdomen was distended in that area. I ended up with an irritation of the bladder. I reduced my water intake, and some of the distention disappeared, and a recheck at urology office showed disappearance of the irritation and less retention of urine. I would say to not overdo on the water, or you could develop problems. A bladder irritation is a symptom and could be something serious. 64 ounces of liquid is enough for me. Plus, don't stress the bladder by forgetting to empty regularly. This information is from my physician.
Water is absorbed thru the system, not digested. Therefore, it is not deposited into the fatty cells to create a pot belly. If your glass of water has a head on it, it may not be water. The water excuse is pretty lame. Try again.
