How Can You Afford To Travel?

What are some ways to travel inexpensively? What are some cheap way to travel ideas?

We do it the old fashion way.  We save and plan for it all along.  And it depends on the traveler.  I do not like cutting corners when I travel because I consider travel as a treat.  There are so many ways to travel.  You can do road trips.  You can RV it with friends.  You can go camping.  What's your pleasure?  Me and the hubby love cruises, so we take a year or more to save for them.  And by planning ahead of time, the cruise line will kick in a balcony or a better cabin to keep you interested.  I will not stay in some cheap motel to save money.  Safety is a big factor in where we stay.  We are no longer kids traveling on the cheap and at the last minute.  We always plan our vacations, and that includes our timeshare.  It's all in the planning.  Absolutely no credit cards!  Get the finances out of the way before you leave.

We are a mature couple working our way around Australia and saving for an overseas trip to Europe ,
We are seeing new places as we go which is great fun.
Organise a working holiday , cut back on unneccesary expenses etc .
Planning too much of the trip takes the fun & adventure out of it and as we are not into wasting money on fancy accommodation when we spend so much time outdoors that leaves more money for exploring !
We treated ourselves to a beach shack for a couple of nights which was amazing at Cape Leveque Western Australia - cooked on the fire ! Very romantic !
You can make friends camping & staying at hostels rather than flashy hotels where people keep to themselves more .

It may depend on what you mean by travel...
If you want to travel to other countries consider teaching English. It allows you to live in another country for a period of time and you have time to travel while you are living and working there.

I agree with Arlene.  We plan our vacations out usually 6-8 months and since we travel to adult only(I don't want my vacation ruined by screaming children)all inclusive(except for gratuities)I can do a monthly budget to see how much it will cost.  We also pay cash only-a left over from Dave Ramsey.  In fact, our next trip is scheduled  to Jamaica for hubby's birthday!

Saving is the only way to travel.

You need to have discipline when comes to saving. Set aside a certain amount to be saved daily and soon you will have enough to travel.
