Where to find public domain clip arts?

I'm looking for free publicly usable clip arts to produce pictures to add to Hubs.

There are actually several hubs that people have written on this subject.

Here are two that I've found useful. Many of the sites they mention are the same but there may be a few differences.

I personally don't use clip art in my Hubs. I prefer photographs. You can find photographs at the following sites:

    http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/

    http://www.morguefile.com/

    http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

When you select a photograph to use, you have to be certain that you're choosing images that have the correct type of license for your circumstances. For example, some images are licensed for non-commercial use only. This means you can't use the photograph in your Hub if Amazon capsules or Google ads will appear on your page.

Wikimedia is very good. I also use Photobucket and morgueFile. Good luck!

I often use Flickr and Google for those pictures that I need to accent my Hub writings.

Don, be careful with Google, as if you use an image you don't specifically have rights to, it's technically a copyright violation. I tend to stay away from Google Images, as someone else already owns the photo.

I use a variety of websites. I think it is good to have multiple sources to have more photos to choose between. Ones I use are:

    Wikipedia Commons
    Stock.xchnge
    FreeDigitalPhotos.net
