If you delete a blog entry that has backlinks to your hubs, does it harm SEO?
Depends on the "cleanliness" of the links themselves, outbound and inbound. It may effect SERP but not overall optimization, if the Hub is a follow (+75). Keep in mind, to be seen as a PR site, each 50 "clean" links raises the site rank but not necessarily SERP. A PR 8 site needs 400 consistent, good links, to be recognized as such.
Bob is correct on the losses appearing as broken or abandoned links. Links are gateways/portals between machines and pages.
It wouldn't harm your hubs as in getting your hubs banned or deindexed from Google. However, the credit given to your hubs by the google algorithm through those backlinks will be gone which may affect your rankings in Google for keywords.
sort of because that page is giving you link juice unless it is a nice blog entry or one with low page rank

I have been on hubpages for two months. I have read multiple articles on SEO and backlinking. Ninety percent of my hubs do not have backlinking. But I choose for a while to say no backlinking. It was "different" I thought and "original". ...

I've taken down as many backlinks as I could quickly do myself. Some places like shetoldme make you ask for help - I've done it. I've deleted all RSS feeds from my own sites and I'll start going over individual posts and replacing HP links with affiliate links. I have so many sites, I may have...
